One of the more common features on online slots vs. in a casino is the ability to buy a bonus. Instead of having to spin repeatedly with the hope a bonus pops up, for a price you can on some games pay a certain amount to go right into a bonus.
The challenge can be that Buy a Bonus can be a significant multiple of a cost of a spin. On many slots the magic number is 100x – so if a spin would cost you 20 cents, that bonus buy would be $20. For some, that’s more than they want to attempt on a single wager.
Fortunately, this isn’t the case for all games. So today let’s go over some of the slots where the bonus buy feature isn’t as expensive as the norm, and can open the door to some additional opportunities!
This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but instead to provide some examples where you can Buy a Bonus for a smaller wager. Also, some casinos may not offer the option to buy a bonus on some or all of their games that can support it, so you may not see the options below that we’ve encountered.
Kings of Crystals
The first slot we have to recommend is one of those three pot style games, Kings of Crystals, which we previously spotlighted on the site.
This format of slot has seven different bonus variations – 3 featuring a single upgrade, 3 featuring 2 out of 3 upgrades, and the seventh is all three upgrades active.
You can buy a bonus for as little as 20x, activating one of the upgrades, to up to over 100x for all three active. Aside from having more affordable bonus buy types, the fact that you can mix and match offers a variety of bonus options that can keep things fun as you play around with the options.
The game offers a 20 cent minimum bet, meaning a buy a bonus could be as little as $4!
Coin Combo Carnival Cow
This version of Coin Combo has a hold and spin bonus as the centerpiece of its bonuses, instead of free spins as an anchor.
This three-pot game has three bonus variations – a 5×3 board for the blue pot, a 5×4 for the green pot, and a 5×5 option if you close both the blue and the green pot.
So for the bonus buys, you can buy any one of those options, going from 30x for 5×3 option all the way to 90x for the 5×5 option. You can also opt for a 60x Mystery option that will select between the three options.
Dancing Drums Prosperity
Dancing Drums fans know a new version with a buy a bonus is hitting casinos as this is published on Flip The Switch, but online you can buy a bonus on a previous version, Dancing Drums Prosperity.
With Dancing Drums Prosperity you can choose from an original Dancing Drums bonus for roughly 34x your bet amount, or a Prosperity free spins with growing reels for about 57x your bet amount.
Ultimate Fire Link Olvera Street
The popular Fire Link series has options with online casinos for buying a bonus. Oddly, we found this on Olvera Street but not other versions, in the sites we reviewed recently, so buy a bonus is not universal in this game series.
The good news is you have the option to buy both bonus types: The free spins at 38x the wager or the Fire Link feature for 42x your wager. So those who love the Fire Link feature can now buy it and get right to it for in the neighborhood of $8!
Monopoly Money Grab
This game features a Hit & Win free spins bonus as one of a few features it offers, and that’s the choice you get for a bonus purchase.
On this game, the Hit & Win free spins can be bought for around 35x your bet, making an affordable entry point for those who want to dive into a bonus for just a bit over $7.
Takeaway
If you want to dabble with bonus buys, there are some options to do so on a budget and get to know how that sort of feature works. All of these games can be played at online casinos featured on Flip The Switch.
