Until recently, most of the real money gaming innovation were occurring outside the United States, or in a handful of states that have legalized iGaming for players within their states.
To date, six states have rolled out real money gaming online, with a seventh, Rhode Island, expected to do so in 2024.
One of the biggest hold ups is that, like other forms of gambling, online real money gaming has to be approved state by state to offer Class III/Vegas-style slots and banked table games.
Now, one of the companies with a strong position in Class II Bingo Machines for tribal gaming facilities has come up with an innovative new product.
Anaxi, the online real money gaming division of Aristocrat, has launched a solution that allows tribes to launch Class II (Bingo) mobile gaming for players within the geographic confines of the tribe’s land. Their launch partner is none other than WinStar, the largest casino in North America.
This is an exciting new twist in mobile gaming, which had previously used geofencing in other ways, such as within the boundaries of a state, or blocking access while at casinos, such as in the case of Connecticut’s two physical casinos, where their own casino and sports betting apps are restricted while on property.
The launch of Anaxi’s solution brings multiple significant announcements in one shot:
- It opens up the potential for mobile play at tribal gaming facilities that can offer Bingo and tools that facilitate the play of Bingo through Class II federal rules. In this case, the mobile app serves as the facilitator of playing Bingo games.
- It opens up popular VGT red screen game themes like Mr. Money Bags and Polar High Roller that have a very strong affinity in markets like Oklahoma.
- They’re able to partner with casinos like WinStar and make games available while on property.
With more than 500 tribal casinos in the United States, this has the potential to unlock additional growth opportunities in real money gaming, above and beyond state-approved opportunities, to extend to tribal gaming markets where Class II gaming is more forward facing.
And with Class II gaming continuing to gain momentum, as it expands into other markets where tribal gaming is already in place or is established, it opens an opportunity for Class II-centric real money gaming.
