Many of those who play the Lightning Link and sister machines know there’s one space during a Hold and Spin bonus where it seems like nothing’s spinning around. A player wants to know:
How about when you get every coin but 1 and can’t even see it spinning in the dark area of the missing spot. Is it possible to even get it?Tammy
Yes, it is indeed possible, and it’s interesting how Aristocrat made the game very transparent visually about what’s going on.
We previously learned from Aristocrat that the game is based on the RNG – the reason you hit the button is that determines if you’re going to get a ball in a space or not for that spin. It’s truly up to your timing. And the game is designed that a Grand progressive jackpot is possible each and every time you enter the hold and spin bonus.
That may explain in part why nearly half of readers in a recent Brian Christopher Slots YouTube poll said they get excited because there’s always a chance to win the Grand when there’s one spot left.
Now, that doesn’t mean it’s easy to get, and the reason for that is that missing spot, as you call it. In the hold and spin bonus, each space is its own reel. And that one spot is a very, very long reel with a lot of empty spaces relative to the ball.
So the ball is in there, and every once in awhile you’ll have a scenario where it will go by during the spin but not land. Of course, if it lands, and all the other spaces are filled in, you’ve got your Grand jackpot.
It doesn’t always have to be the last one to land. Brian Christopher posted a video the same day this article was published, showing off his first ever Grand jackpot on one of the link games – in this case Buffalo Link. He managed to land it in the difficult spot with another seven spaces still remaining.
That means he still had to do the work of filling the other spots – just because there’s prizes spinning in all the spaces doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to win the Grand. And as people who play Link games know, getting all the others is still far from guaranteed. But sure enough, Brian made it happen, and did indeed win the Grand jackpot accordingly.
There’s YouTube recordings out there that show the last spot being the difficult one and it landing, so if you look around you’ll find examples of it – as time goes on more Grand jackpots are captured live or are recorded from start to finish, so players can see how it comes together.
