One of the souvenirs that some players enjoy collecting is a deck of playing cards previously used at one of the casino’s tables. Over the years we’ve gotten them as gifts for signing up for a players card, as a souvenir from a pit boss at the table, and from casino gift shops. Each casino’s process varies, as today’s questioner shares:
Recently I asked at a casino for used playing cards. I used to get them at almost every casino I went to, like a usable souvenir. The family loves cribbage and we use the cards. The box of cards has the casino’s name. Well since the pandemic they don’t give them out. They said we cannot give them out because they are contaminated and might make someone sick. Why? I play the slots and I don’t see anyone wiping down the machines after each use. I can buy playing cards at Walmart but it’s just not the same.

This seems like an outlier to us, Julie, as we’ve continued to see playing cards at many casinos being available in some form, including ones we got ourselves in a relatively recent visit to a Las Vegas locals casino.
One particular avenue you might want to check is the casino gift shop. Many casinos sell used decks of cards within the casino gift shop, often for a pretty affordable price too. But if your local casino is just not doing it altogether, you can try other routes.
If you prefer the cards used at casinos over the standard ones at Walmart, you might consider checking online for them. A search for “Las Vegas used playing cards” on Amazon pulled up a few listings with potential, and you can check other sites like eBay for them as well, although with eBay you might find yourself finding more collectible items that are more expensive.
And finally, there’s also small businesses like Spinetti’s Gaming Supplies, where you can order all sorts of new and used casino artifacts like cards and chips.
Rest assured there’s ways to get used casino playing cards, as long as you’re willing to do a bit of legwork. If your local casino is no longer offering them, there’s still plenty of ways to get them so you can have some fun.
