It’s that time of year again – tax season has arrived, and we’re getting another increased round of inquiries about the topic. But this comment found on one of Brian Christopher’s videos is a bit different:
Sad game, and it’s mid-January so nothing will pay for at least a month when people get their taxes back.

Just like casinos don’t change payouts based on the time of day, or whether it’s the start or end of the month, they don’t change payouts because it’s tax season, just like they don’t change payouts during the holidays because people might be getting end of the year bonuses, either. (Also worth noting is Brian films in advance, so videos being published in January were filmed late the previous year.)
Casino games are pretty remarkable things – they offer plenty of entertainment, but are designed to make money for the casino – every last one of them is structured in a way that overtime, the casino will come out ahead.
With such a simple, enduring setup, they don’t need to make any changes, because if people want to come to the casino to gamble, they’ve got hundreds or thousands of options to let a player choose from.
Slots are among the most profitable for the casino – the average slot will make most casinos hundreds of dollars per day. Now multiply that by the hundreds or thousands of machines in the casino, and you can get an idea of the type of money we’re talking here.
With that sort of ability to make money, casinos don’t need to do anything but ensure they’re powered up and functional. Remember, casinos want winners – they know they’ll make money in the long run, but winners give them something to trumpet in marketing, and give the winners a story to share with other players in the many casino groups and forums found online.
So you don’t need to worry about the casinos and their ability to make money – they will do just fine without making any changes. So it’s up to you if your tax refund is for the entertainment budget or to go to something else, but it won’t be any different if you bank it and go back six months later.
