When you play at a casino, you’re going to get offers from them. But does that also mean you might get contacted by others?
Do different casinos share their customer information? It seems that as my status elevates on one casino ratings, like MGM, then I start to get more invitations on other groups like Harrah’s.

Your gambling data is pretty valuable to casinos, and that information is proprietary to the casino, as long as they want it to be. Sharing that data with other casinos could yield other casinos to attempt to cherry pick the best customers away from them, which wouldn’t be an ideal scenario.
So on the whole, they don’t normally share with each other, especially companies like MGM and Caesars, anyway. But if you’re regularly visiting MGM’s website, you’re likely being tracked by ad companies, and then they can use that information to show you Caesars info and so on – that’s pretty standard digital marketing, for better or for worse.
Now, casinos do sometimes share information with partners. Local casinos may partner with a national brand like Caesars, or another smaller operator that las a presence in a desirable market like Las Vegas, to do some co-marketing. Ocean in Atlantic City had offered higher players the ability to stay at Wynn, for instance, offering a perk they couldn’t provide themselves, but they could vouch for the level of players that they were sending to Wynn.
This is most frequently done with cruise lines. Based on a casino’s play level, they can partner with cruise lines to extend cruise vouchers, with the expectation that a certain level of play in a land-based casino most likely means a certain level of play on a cruise.
Even Carnival Fun Match, a program we share as part of Brian Christopher’s relationship with Carnival, has you upload your tier cards and cruise offers to prove you’ve earned a certain level, and they can use that to extend an offer based on their best understanding of what those tiers and offers mean in terms of the type of player you are.
So some of that high level data sharing does take place to allow for co-marketing. But if you’re getting followed around by a casino in your area after you played regularly at another casino in your area, it may just be more traditional location-based and information-based digital marketing going on moreso than the casinos sharing information with each other.
