Some slots have very long bonus rounds, with hundreds of spins or an open-ended structure that can keep going for awhile. How does that impact your tier earnings?
When you get free spins, does the dollar amount per spin go towards your rewards card as if you were putting in that dollar amount per spin? I recently got over 450 free spins playing Mayan Chief.

No, you don’t get credit for the free spins, similar to how you don’t generally get credit for free play.
The trick with earning tier credits is it’s based on how much you’re wagering. When you’re in the free spins, the only wager made was the one triggering the free spins. Once the free spins begin, nothing is being wagered, so nothing is being earned from that respect.
On the other hand, you’re also not spending any money – the bonus is when you get to sit back, relax, and hopefully win a good amount! And, with a long bonus like Mayan Chief, that can save you a good chunk of change, since all those spins are free and don’t require you to spend money along the way.
The same goes for free play – while you don’t traditionally earn tier credits off of them (we’ve seen a weird exception now and then), you also aren’t spending any money and what you earn off the free play is ultimately yours to do with what you want.
If you opt to then play on with the cash you accrued from these scenarios, at that point you’d get credit for the wagers you’re making. But the free spins itself doesn’t yield anything more.
If you’re concerned you’re not getting enough time playing because of the long bonuses, there’s definitely slots with a shorter bonus cycle (Top Dollar and games like that) so you can always switch it up to balance things out.
