Slot machines keep a record of money deposited and cashed out as part of their accounting of what’s happened so casinos know how a particular game is performing on their floor (and have the data for any reporting required in their jurisdiction). What they don’t record is who put the money in, so technically, the answer to this question is no.
However, if you use a players card, then the casino will separately record how much you personally deposit and withdraw into each machine. This is so the casino can track a player’s progress, which can determine things like tier credit earnings as well as your casino offers and earned comps (those spendable dollars they give you as you play).
Slot machines do not use how much money you’ve put in as a factor in things like payback percentages, because a payback percentage is set at the machine level and is achieved across millions of spins. As such, you don’t need to worry about how much you’re putting in, or whether you’re putting in cash, a ticket or free play. Regardless of how much you put in, or how you put it in, the game will still treat things identically.
While how much money put in doesn’t impact how the game works, it may impact how you play. Putting in a larger bill or ticket may make it tempting, or easier, to play longer than you want to before moving on. Putting in smaller amounts encourages more decision points when you run out of cash in a given game. At that point you can decide if you want to put more money in, or if you want to move on to another game, or perhaps call it a day altogether.

Thank you so much for all the info. It always helps to understand the odds and how machines work. The point is having fun and its always more fun to win. Even on days I’ve lost, the fun gaudge was more important. This has been very informative and I will continue to use Flip The Switch to my advantage.
Awesome Dee! We’re going to have a lot more helpful information in the weeks and months to come!
Great information. Thank you for putting this togethe
Our pleasure Jackie! We look forward to having a lot more to come!
Very informative site and answered many of my questions. Still wondering if rapid fire does actually change the machines timing.
Hi Helen – thanks for your question! We’ll be answering it on the site soon, but in short, it does not change the machine’s timing, but it changes your timing of when your next spin will be. What you won’t know is whether it will make it better or worse than what you would have had if you maintained your pace.
Enjoyed getting educated on the ins and outs of the machines and player cards. Fabulous job and addressing our questions is fantastic!!!
Thanks Pat! We appreciate you taking the time to read and leave a comment!
Thank you for the information. It was very informative and helpful.
Thanks so much for reading, and your response, Noonan!
Outcome and payout the Millie second you put a coin into the machine the outcome is determined to put three coins in the payout is determined also Mr handpace says if you turn the volume up on the machine it increases your odds by two and a half percent LOL
Hey Roy – the outcome and payout are not determined when you put money in, but when you hit the spin button. Volume has no impact on paybacks.
