Here’s two interrelated questions about cash and slots, particularly putting in or taking out money:
Does the machine reset each time you put in a bill? I found that each time I put in another bill, it hits shortly after instead of putting in a large amount and constantly hitting.
Pat Z.
And this question related to slot machine drops, which we recently discussed on the site:
If the games have the money taken out daily and they are reset daily does that affect game play?
Jack F.
Both of our readers can rest easy – the act of putting money in, or taking money out, neither resets a slot or affects game play at all.
The random number generator (RNG) doesn’t behave differently because money is put in or taken out – its function, and the outcomes that it can lead to, don’t change either.
A slot is designed to make money over its lifetime – short term dips and pops are part of the journey, one that’s by design supposed to take months to years to achieve its intended long term return to player percentage.
So changes like money being inserted or daily cash removal by the casino isn’t going to impact what happens in the long term, or your session for that matter – the act of money in or out is an accounting function, not an outcome function, and an outcome that isn’t decided until you place a wager.
Slots are among the most profitable casino games offered because they don’t require heavy staffing, they largely run themselves, and the house edge is among the highest found on a casino floor. They just need to be powered on and set up, and the occasional management like the cash drop or adding more paper to the ticket printer.
So this is one of those things to not worry about – just enjoy the ride that slots provide!
