As we’ve been talking about the Lucky Chance Spin and Wager Saver more lately, some follow-up questions have been coming off of it. One area of curiosity is regarding the player points. This question was posted in The Rudies, Brian Christopher’s fan club group:
Just watching a video where you are putting 2500 for $125 a spin but $100 bills. Question…is it $100 or $125 towards players points?!
Nigel H.
Others had follow-up questions to that question:
Does it go to your points if you don’t get it as well? Never thought of that one.
Anthony F.
And
I wonder if it counts at all?
Amy E.
Each wager you make on an electronic machine is tracked for the purposes of your tier and comp dollars for a casino program. This is possible because everything can be precisely tracked:
- How much each wager is
- What game it’s on, and the house advantage that game is set up to have
- How many wagers are made
- How long you played for
If you change your wager, change your denomination – the players card system knows exactly what’s going on and is able to precisely calculate what’s been done throughout your session.
This compares with table games, where often it’s just an estimate based on your average wager as punched into a machine by the pit boss. While the systems are better and more accurate than they used to be (we still saw some casinos tracking on paper just a few years ago, for instance), it’s still less precise.
They can be equally as precise about the Lucky Chance Spin. We started our response by noting they track every wager. When doing the Lucky Chance Spin, your wager is the amount of money you put up to attempt the spin. So in the Brian example where he puts in $100 to try a $125 spin, the wager is $100. Even though the outcome may be he wins a $125 spin, he bet $100 – and that’s what the system will track.
We definitely have confirmed the players card systems give credit for these wagers – we’ve tried it, and monitored it, on enough occasions, and their system has no way of differentiating between a regular spin and a Lucky Chance Spin. The slot tells them a wager was made, and they track the wager. And just like any losing spin at full price, the wager is tracked and logged whether you get the spin or not.
So hopefully that helps clear up the players card and tier credit side of the Lucky Chance Spin!
