Brian has been more regularly playing online casinos as part of his ambassadorship with BetMGM. With more time playing online slots, how do they compare to physical casinos?
Does Brian win more money playing online than in the casinos?

The first thing to remember is both online casinos and physical casinos have an advantage built into their games for the casino. That means that over the long run, you’re expected to lose, not win.
When it comes to online casinos, however, it tends to be the case that the payback percentage (the expected long term percentage to be paid back to the player) is higher, and by a significant percentage at times.
That can mean your money lasts longer, or when you get a big win, that win is bigger than what you’d get in a physical casino. Or the big wins can come more often, allowing for an increased chance of a winning session.
Because of the higher payback percentage, Brian tends to lean into bigger bets more often, and with them, sometimes achieving bigger wins. But he can also have droughts, just like any other form of gambling, and proceed to quickly lose his behind.
One other wildcard is that many online slots can be more volatile. So there’s the potential in there for bigger wins that can’t always be accomplished in a physical casino. That, combined with the bigger bets, means there’s the possibility at some point for a truly unusual moment.
That doesn’t mean he won’t still lose money in the long term, or even in the short term – it’s just a different sort of ride. So to your question, ultimately his money lasts longer online because of the better paybacks, but he also tends to bet higher, which can balance that out, so it’s not too much different.
For an average player doing smaller bets consistently between in person and online, all else being equal, your money will, on average, last longer online thanks to the higher payback percentage.
