Some people will try just about anything to get an edge on the casino…
I saw a video about people saying sprinkling cinnamon on yourself is the secret to winning at the casino. Any thoughts?

At first we thought this was a joke question submitted to us, but then a member of our social team shared a TikTok where people were doing exactly this. So this is as good a place to address it as any other.
No – sprinkling cinnamon does not help your chances of winning. To be fair, it also doesn’t hurt your chances of winning either.
However, we’d advise against it, not because it has an impact of any kind on your winning or losing, but because we presume the cinnamon will get caught in the buttons, make them sticky or crunchy, and create that annoyingly frustrating scenario where the buttons don’t work as they should.
Casino machines go through serious testing and have to endure things like slot tournaments, so they’re built to be pretty robust, but the designers of machines likely didn’t factor in people sprinkling cinnamon all over themselves and then playing casino games.
If you’re a germophobe it’s already a little challenging when you figure other people are pressing the buttons, drinking (and sometimes even eating) at machines, and other scenarios that make keeping slot machines (and everything else in the casino) clean a constant battle.
The best casinos seem to have staff everywhere constantly wiping down machines and other surfaces, but those efforts will be gummed up by people sprinkling cinnamon all over their hands.
So no, it doesn’t work. And for all of us who want to enjoy our experience without collecting cinnamon all over ourselves (without the satisfaction of it happening while enjoying a hot churro), please don’t do it.

Great question about Cinnamon.
I’ve decided to bring Big Red chewing gum (Cinnamon flavoured) to RW25; just to test out this theory. Just Rudies supporting Rudies.
We love that Paul – perhaps play some games with red 7s to really bring it all together!
Playing 1 theme on a game works for me many times. One Vegas trip I only played 7 games at casinos. Years ago when most games were 3 reel or similar, there were many 7 games. Red Hot Sevens, Flaming Sevens, etc. It worked well for me.
That’s an interesting approach! We know Brian likes to bounce around, so I don’t know if that’d work for him, but we’re glad it does for you!
Another thing to consider: some people, including my mother (who is the best in the world, imo), have severe allergies to cinnamon. The smell alone has sent her to the ER several times over the years from anaphylaxis. My favorite gum was Big Red when I was a kid, but I stopped chewing it entirely to avoid causing a trip to the ER.
Oh no! That sounds pretty challenging to have a reaction just to the smell. But it’s also a great reminder how such seemingly benign actions can impact others, especially in spaces they would otherwise not necessarily feel unsafe.
