Some newer slots, particularly those made by IGT, offer a speed button that lets you determine how fast a slot’s reels spin. In other cases, players may sometimes speed through their spins. Do either have an impact on your luck?
Is the RNG influenced or altered if you play a slot machine on the high speed instead of slower speeds?

The random number generator processes hundreds or even thousands of numbers every single second. So by having a faster spin, you’re going to likely initiate your next spin faster, which would change the outcome.
But like we’ve talked about with other changes in the past, like changing denominations, you don’t know if you’re improving your situation or worsening it relative to what would have happened under a different scenario.
Generally, these things have a neutral outcome – over time, it won’t make things any better or any worse. That’s because the RNG still has the same chances of any particular outcome coming out at any point you press the button, whether faster or slower.
Now, what will happen if you’re doing faster speed spins is you’ll complete more spins per hour. And the slot machine has a house edge in favor of the casino. The more bets you make against that house edge, the more money you’d be expected to lose over time, in the long run.
Short-term outcomes can go in any direction – you could lose your money fast, or you could get a jackpot. But the way a slot is designed, the more wagers you place, the more likely you’ll approach the expected long term payback, and that is always going to be less than what you put in.
So doing faster spins simply accelerates the number of outcomes, both good and bad, and likely will have an impact on how much you walk away with, all else being equal.
Some players lower their bet a bit to counteract the fact that they’re betting faster, and that might be a good strategy for balancing things out.
