When playing a slot machine, most have a button you push to start the bonus. One player thinks waiting is an advantageous strategy:
Is it true the longer you wait to press the button, the better chance of you winning big?

Just like taking a spin, starting a bonus, presuming the bonus is not predetermined (and many free spin bonuses are not), is similarly just all about timing. Waiting will in the long run neither help nor hurt you.
Some games have timers that will start a bonus after a window of time, to avoid a slot being stuck there forever and held up without any wagering. Games by Incredible Technologies come to mind most prominently with this feature.
But for the most part they’ll wait for you. And for games that work against the RNG for bonuses and free spins, the outcome isn’t known until you kick off that bonus (and in the case of the spins, play them out). But like with other things related to timing, you’ll never know if the time you started your bonus was better or worse than any other time you could’ve started the bonus, and over time, it’s expected it will wash out.
So, it’s a neutral choice. If you want to wait for it, build that suspense, “let it sizzle” as friends of the site would say, go for it! If you want to find your friends to have them come over and watch your bonus, there’s no problem. But similarly, if you want to get right to it, that’s also fine – over time, it won’t make a difference.
So fortunately it’s one of those things we don’t need to stress over as players, as it won’t make any difference in the end one way or the other if you want to wait it out or not.
