Base Game
The minimum bet on Big Juan starts at an approachable 50 cents per spin slowly increasing up to more middle of the road bets like $5. From there, the stakes start kicking up to much larger wagers including $50, $75, and the max bet of $100 per spin.
Like most slot titles, in Big Juan, you’re hoping for three or more of the same symbols to land across the board on one of the lines. There are five columns in this game and wins are paid from the left most column to the right.
When it comes to pays, the symbols that show either Big Juan, the woman, or the chihuahua pay the most. These symbols are followed by hot sauce, a guitar, and the standard A, K, Q, J, and 10. You’ll also want to keep your eyes out for the wild pepper symbol that can make winning a little easier when it lands in the right spot.

You need to land three of them to activate the bonus, if you score two, you do at least get paid a little something for your efforts. If it isn’t looking like you’ll drop in three pinatas, Big Juan offers up a surprise bonus feature- he takes over your screen and will award a random bonus. That is what happened while we were checking this game out, we were awarded three pinatas for 10 free games.
In the Bonus Free Games Feature, you are presented with more of a grid like slot design. The grid is designed three by three, with a green money bag square in the middle. During the spins, your hope is to build up that money bag by collecting coins as you watch the free games play out. The starting value of your center money bag is equal to the starting bet.
Now, how do you collect those coins to build up your money bag? Immediately to the right of the grid is a special box that you need to land either “win”or “boost.” You need to land “win” in the special box to the right in order to count the progressives towards their required collection number (we tell you how many below). Every time you get “win,” any gold coins on the screen are won and get added to your bonus total win. Landing the “win” in the special box also allows you to collect the center money bag immediately.
If you get “boost,” any of the gold coins on your screen get sucked into the money bag in the middle that you started with. That growing bag value can become value if you land “Win” symbols as the bonus progresses.
In addition to building up the center bag, during the bonus you are working to snag one of the progressives. The progressives are represented by corresponding “mini,” “minor,” “major,” and “grand” pinata symbols. Each symbol collected gets added to the counter on the left. You need to collect three corresponding symbols to win the mini, four for the minor, five for the major, and lastly, if you can snag six of the grand symbols you win the top prize.
Depending on where you live, you may have the option to buy a bonus. If you chose to go this route, it is 75X your bet to start the bonus. So, for example, on $5 a spin, you can buy the bonus for $375. Big Juan tries to entice bonus buying by ensuring you will be given at least four bonus symbols instead of the customary three. Four symbols will give you 12 spins to start, if you get five, that will give you 15.
Wild Switch
The Wild Switch is a very interesting feature! If you land six or more of a single symbol in reels two, three, and four, the “Wild Switch” becomes activated and transforms all of that symbol on those middle three reels into a wild symbol, boosting the amount of potential line hits.
