Base Game
Capital Gains is a 5×3 reel set with 50 credit bet increments making a minimum bet 50 cents. It’s an all ways pays game, meaning that as long as symbols appear on successive reels, you get paid – multiple symbols on a reel means you can get paid multiple times. The slot features 9 base pay table symbols, four of which are poker symbols and five are premium symbols. There’s also the wild symbols, found only on reels 2-5, the orbs that link to the Money Charge Bonus, and the bonus symbols that link to the Cash Vault feature.
Effectively this features a classic hold and spin structure. For instance, there’s four jackpots on offer, but unlike the in-casino version which would feature a mix of flat jackpots and progressives, here the jackpots are all flat.
They stay the same within a bet multiplier, so you can bet higher within the multiplier to improve your chances for a jackpot. But they do increase proportionally with the bet multiplier. Think of the bet multiplier as the equivalent of a denomination selector.
Money Charge Bonus
6 or more orbs landing on a single spin awards the Money Charge bonus. This is a traditional hold and spin bonus – you get three spins to land another orb. When an orb lands, it locks on the reels and the spin counter resets to three.
The bonus ends when you either go three spins without landing another orb, or filling the entire screen, which awards the Grand jackpot. All the prizes on the orbs that land during the bonus are collected and awarded.
The Grand can be won as one of the orbs, but it can only be won once, so if it pops up on an orb, you know you’re not filling the board. We expect most players will still be happy with the single Grand, however.
Cash Vault Feature
Three or more vault symbols trigger the Cash Vault Feature. Two vaults appear on screen, which can trigger either the Money Charge Bonus or the Free Spins Bonus.
Free Spins Bonus
When Free Spins are selected in the Cash Vault Feature, 6, 9, 12 or 15 free spins are awarded with 50, 100, 150, 200 extra wild symbols added. Each of those numbers are chosen from the ranges at random.
You can retrigger during the free spins, but the main attraction here is the combination of the all ways pays and the extra wilds. Since a symbol anywhere on the reel can help boost pays, it opens the door to some real opportunities.
It makes sense this bonus is a bit harder to get, since you can trigger Money Charge outright, or get it as part of the Cash Vault feature – Free Spins only comes out some of the time.
