With Deal or No Deal Megaways, White Hat Gaming has combined two popular formats – the game show Deal or No Deal and the Big Time Gaming concept of Megaways – into a game that offers a number of novel iterations on the traditional Megaways format to offer some fresh gameplay, including the Deal or No Deal format that many enjoy.
Let’s discuss the Deal or No Deal Megaways game, and where you can play it online in the US with real money.
Deal or No Deal Megaways Base Game
The traditional Megaways format is in play, with up to 117,649 ways to win across a six reel format. Reels 2-5 have an additional space added on top, which is the only place where wilds can appear. Minimum bet on this game is 50 cents, higher than many Megaways games often start at, but still accessible to most players.
The game offers the traditional cascading element, which means when winning ways occur, the symbols that line up are removed and replaced with fresh symbols, which could lead to another win, and another cascade. Important to this version, getting enough cascades can get you to a bonus, which we’ll discuss in a moment.
There are 10 pay table symbols here, six poker symbols and four premium symbols, along with the wild symbol. Because the bonus is triggered by the number of cascades and not bonus symbols, you don’t have any blockers from that type of symbol.
Mystery Symbol
On some spins the Banker can add some number of mystery symbols to the reels, which will then reveal a symbol. All of the mystery symbols will reveal the same symbol.
If the mystery symbols line up it can immediately offer a win and kick off the first cascade.
Bonus Trail
Four or more cascades trigger the Deal or No Deal Bonus. The type of bonus depends on the number of cascades:
- 4 Cascades: Deal or No Deal Bonus. 1-30x prizes or 8-12 free spins available
- 5 Cascades: Deal or No Deal Super Bonus. 1-10x prizes or 8-20 free spins available
- 6+ Cascades: Deal or No Deal Mega Bonus. 8-20 free spins available.
Bonus Format
The game is a reskin of one first offered in the UK, so it follows the UK format of Deal or No Deal. You start with 22 cases. In the first round, you remove five. In subsequent rounds you remove three.
After each round, you receive an offer, which you can either take (“Deal”) or reject (“No Deal”). The banker can offer bonus free spins as a bonus after you accept a deal, in a range of 5-12 spins.
It’s important to remember from a payout perspective that you had four cascades or more to get here, so on top of any credit or free spins prizes that are won here, you also get paid for those cascades, so it can work out pretty well.
Free Spins
The free spins follow other Megaways games to a degree. The key benefit is an increasing multiplier each time you get a win and cascade, increasing the potential of a big win as the multiplier grows. Getting more free spins, of course, helps the chances of that happening too.
Free spins symbols are now available in those top four spaces above reels 2-5. Retriggers happen when you get three symbols (5 spins) or four symbols (10 spins). Mystery symbols are added to the reels at the beginning of the free spins, which can potentially help with getting more wins, and therefore cascades and a higher multiplier.
Jackpot Royale
One last feature for this game is it is part of the Jackpot Royale series of games. In this case, getting four Jackpot Royale symbols in the top four spaces on the reels will trigger enter the Jackpot Royale bonus.
Reel spins will let you collect crowns – more crowns increases the multiplier of your bet you win. After each spin you choose a symbol to either spin again, collect your prize or head to the Wheel King. 15 crowns collected also head to the Wheel King.
On the Wheel King you get either a big multiplier of your bet or one of the progressives, so it’s the place to want to get.
