The Desert Cats slot machine is a longtime physical casino slot machine that became one of Marco’s favorites during multiple Brian Christopher Slots Cruises. The game features some unique features that aren’t often seen on slots, such as an unusual seven-reel format.

Let’s explore the Desert Cats slot machine, and we’ll also share where you can play it online with real money!

Base Game

The Desert Cats slot machine is a 50 line, 50 credit slot with an unusual 4×7 reel set. Even more unusual is at two connected reels are wild at any given time, although with the seven reels that’s important and helpful to have a shot at some good wins.

There’s 11 base pay table symbols here, with 5 being poker symbols and 6 being more premium. There’s also the wild symbols, which are stacked cat heads, and the bonus symbol.

Another twist is wilds can be 1×1 or 2×2 in size, and the 2×2 in size ones are the ones that can house gems. Collecting six or more gems awards a jackpot In physical casinos these jackpots are progressive, whereas in the online version these are flat jackpots.

6 Gems: 10x your bet
7 Gems: 40x your bet
8 Gems: 80x your bet
9 Gems: 600x your bet
10 Gems: 2,000x your bet

Free Spins

Three or more Lion symbols trigger the free spins. What you get is based on the number of symbols that land:

3 Lion symbols: 5 free spins
4 Lion symbols: 15 free spins + 10x your bet
5 Lion symbols: 50 free spins + 15x your bet

Desert Cats slot machine four wild reels

During the free spins, there’s more wild reels – two sets of two reels wild – but the wilds no longer have gems – this is all about the line hits. But with four out of seven reels wild by default during the bonus, you have a lot more of an opportunity to succeed.

Three Lion heads on the three non-wild reels can retrigger for five additional spins, which can help extend the bonus and its value.
