Bluberi has been around for awhile, but the Devil’s Lock slot machine is one of their games to truly strike a chord with players. The game’s success has found it being ported to the online casino format, where you can now play it for real money.
Today, let’s look at what makes Devil’s Lock unique, and also where it can be found to play.
Base Game
The Devil’s Lock slot machine game structure is a bit unusual – the reel set is 3×5, but has 15 independent reels. The game has 66 credit bet increments, making the minimum bet 66 cents, the same as in the casino. It’s a lines game with 40 pay lines.
The game has no progressives, just four bonus prizes that change relative with your bet. And the way they are won is their landing on the reels and the devil unlocking it, just like the coin prizes. All bonus prizes are available at any bet level, and more than one bonus prize can be won on any spin. This works identically to the physical casino format, so this is exactly the same game it is in casinos.
The reels contain poker symbols and premium symbols, along with coin prizes. The middle space of the middle reel also contains a devil symbol. The devil symbol does a lot of work:
- It serves as a wild symbol
- It throws coins up to the pigs, which can trigger a bonus
- It unlocks coins and bonus prizes for immediate wins
A good chunk of the money is in those coins and bonus prizes appearing with the devil. But the top pay table symbols are capable of yielding some strong wins as well, if enough of them are present and connecting into five of a kinds.
Rewind
On any spin where the devil doesn’t appear, the center reel can rewind and bring the devil out, and he can unlock prizes, throw coins to the pigs and so on.
When the devil is present, the non-center reels can rewind to bonus prizes.
Both rewind features can happen on a single spin.
Free Spins
Whenever the devil appears, he throws a coin into one or both pigs. Randomly at any time, a pig can break open to reveal 6 free spins. (The bigs can also grow in lieu of breaking open; the size of the pig is a perceived persistence feature and is not indicative of how close a bonus may be.)
During the free spins the devil remains in the center spot, collecting all locked prizes, throwing more coins into the pigs for a chance at free spins, and serving as a sticky wild. This tends to increase the chances of winning something substantial, although with six spins it’s certainly not guaranteed.
