The Divine Fortune series by NetEnt has been popular and well balanced, so it’s not surprising that their latest edition, Divine Fortune Black, is also succeeding. With the addition of cash on reels symbols, the new edition adds some new wrinkles that players will love.
Here’s what’s new about Divine Fortune Black, and where you can play it online.
Base Game
Divine Fortune Black retains the 5×3 reel set of its predecessor, with 20 paylines. The pay table remains simple – there’s just 7 core symbols to line up. There’s also scatter symbols, three or more of which trigger free games.
Wilds continue to appear, and like the original will trigger free respins if one lands, moving down the reels one space per spin. If another wild lands behind the original, the entire reel turns wild, and the wilds move down the reels one space as before.
The new wrinkle is cash on reels coins on the middle three reels, which can show credit prizes or one of the three jackpots. They get collected by a collect symbol that can appear on reels 1 and 5. These operate just like the wilds – you get free respins when one appears, and the coins move down one space on the reels with each spin. Landing another coin behind the existing one will fill the reel with coins.
The wilds and coins work together to trigger more respins, so the end result is some much longer respin arcs at times when the coins and wilds keep coming.
Free Spins
Another new wrinkle is the free spins. Like the original, three or more scatters trigger the free spins. However, when triggered, the player now gets a choice of Divine Spins or Fortune Spins.
Divine Spins
If Divine Spins is chosen, the number of scatters determines how many spins you get to start:
- 3 scatter symbols: 5 spins
- 4 scatter symbols: 8 spins
- 5 scatter symbols: 12 spins
Respins continue to occur in the free spins, when wilds and/or coins appear. The biggest difference is when one lands, it automatically fills the entire reel – it doesn’t wait for another one to land behind it. This means more respins during the free spins.
Fortune Spins
If Fortune Spins is chosen, you get three spins. If you get more than three scatter symbols to trigger, a mystery symbol is awarded for every extra scatter triggering the bonus beyond the initial three.
This is effectively a hold and spin bonus, with three spins to land another prize. Land one, and the counter resets to three. The collect symbol can land during the bonus and collect all prizes shown on the reels at the time. The Mystery symbol will reveal one of the three jackpot prizes at the end of the bonus.
An additional wrinkle is that based on the number of rows you fill, that can award extra jackpots:
- Fill 1 row: Minor jackpot awarded
- Fill 2 rows: Major jackpot awarded
- Fill 3 rows: Mega jackpot awarded
So this bonus offers a lot of opportunities to be awarded jackpots. And with the lowest jackpot being 25x your bet, they can add up quickly.
Elevate
The Elevate button offers multiple opportunities to buy one of the two free spins bonus types mentioned above, as well as increase your chances for a feature, or enhance the collect feature.
Buying bonuses can cost up to 100x, depending on the bonus selected. Upgrading the chances for a bonus is a 50% increase over your base bet. Enhancing the collect feature is more expensive, but will be more lucrative when it happens.
