One of the classic slots from the casino floor, Double Top Dollar by IGT has been a mainstay for decades. In recent years the slot has seen a revival with a new 9-line version that brings the game up to date for modern casino floors. And now, that version has made the jump online, finally bringing Double Top Dollar to online players.
Here’s what you can expect with Double Top Dollar as an online slot, and where you can play it online!
Base Game
This is a pretty straightforward slot – there’s 9 lines, but it’s a 10 credit game, because the 10th credit activates the Double Top Dollar bonus. To qualify for the bonus, all 10 credits are required.
Unlike the physical casino version, all bet levels automatically accommodate the 10 credit structure, so you don’t get to pick your lines, but all bets make you eligible for the bonus. But also unlike the physical casino version, you can bet as low as 10 cents per spin, or into the hundreds of dollars per spin. This is one of the advantages of online slots, and makes this a great play for those with smaller budgets.
There’s not many pay table symbols here – there’s three levels of bars (which pay mixed), 7s and cherries. There’s also wild symbols that are also 2x multipliers when included in a pay line (two on the same winning payline pays 4x). And finally, there’s the Double Top Dollar bonus symbol, found solely on reel 3, and activated anytime it lands in a position that’s on at least one pay line.
Double Top Dollar Bonus
Anytime the Double Top Dollar symbol appears on reel 3 on a payline, you trigger the bonus. The number of paylines it’s on doesn’t matter, since you’re paying one credit separately for the bonus – you just go right in.
When the bonus is triggered, you’re given up to four offers. The first offer is presented and you’re given the choice to take the offer or try again.
There is a mathematically best way to play each offer, which is included in the pay table but also is displayed on the screen for ease. Of course, it’s up to you – you can take the advice or do what you think is best. If you decline the first offer, the next offer is shown, and the process repeats until you get to the fourth offer. If you hit that point, you automatically are awarded that as your bonus prize.
