Before you decide if you want to hop on the train, read on below to learn how the game plays from payouts to those many bonus features.
Base Game
Gold Blitz Express offers a wide variety bets for a wide variety of players, ranging from 20 cents per spin all the way up to a max bet (at least in the version we reviewed) of $150. The game gives you the ability to up the ante by toggling on the “double feature chance.” This optional feature is twice the price of your base bet and increases the likelihood that a bonus will occur.
Once you have your bet locked in, it’s time to try your luck! Gold Blitz Express is a six reel game that pays left to right. Instead of relying on lines, this title plays using ways. That means you are just looking for matching symbols to start matching on the left most reel and continue to match to the right. There are 4,096 ways to win.
While spinning, keep your eyes out for the wild symbols. These can appear on reels two, three, four, five, and six during any base game spins. These green wild symbols will substitute for all symbols with the exception of the Scatter and Blitz Express symbols plus the Cash and Collect icons.
For payouts, the highest paying symbol is going to be a stack of gold bars, followed by a pile of gold coins, golden bell, and horseshoe. The rest of the symbols include A, K, Q, J, 10, and 9.
Blitz Express
When it comes to features, first we’re going to break down the Blitz Express. To trigger the Blitz Express, you are hoping to land the golden train on reel six. You can trigger this during the base game, Free Spins, or the Gold Blitz. Once you land the golden train, you will be awarded anywhere from five up to 20 prizes. The cash value of these prizes ranges from .05X to 9X your base bet. In addition to the cash prizes, you can land the jackpots shown on the left hand of the screen, and they can be won more than once! The size of the jackpots scales with the size of your bet.
You can trigger the Blitz Express plus the Bonus choice at the same time. If you are lucky enough to do so, you’ll play the Blitz Express feature first. You cannot score the Blitz Express feature and Gold Blitz Respins at the same time during the base game. Same goes for the Rising Rewards Instant Jackpot.
Rising Rewards Instant Win Jackpot
When it comes to the Rising Rewards Instant Win Jackpot, you are looking for the lightning bolt to appear over any of the symbols. For every one of the lightning bolt tokens you collect, the jackpot increases by 0.1X to 0.5X. The jackpot will keep increasing until it hits its max level. The jackpot value is held for your unique session until it is awarded. Something to note: the chances of triggering the Instant Win Jackpot actually decrease the higher the value becomes. You can only win the jackpot once per spin and is available in the base game, Free Spins, and Gold Blitz. After the jackpot is awarded, it is reset.
Collect Feature
During both the base game and Gold Blitz feature, you can capture the Collect Feature: another gold lightning bolt, this time on a blue background. For this, you are looking to land the Collect symbol on either reels one or six. The cash symbols can appear on all reels. You need both the Cash and Collect symbols to show up at the same spin to trigger the feature and start collecting what you see on screen. Cash symbols can range from 0.5X to 9X your base bet. These symbols do not appear in the Free Spins.
Gold Blitz Respins
There’s still hope if you land Collect Symbols on reels one and six but no Cash symbols land, thanks to the Gold Blitz Respins! When this happens, and you didn’t trigger the Bonus Choice, reels two through five will respin with the promise of at least one Cash symbol landing. Plus, you can randomly win up to two more respins. This feature is available in the base game only and does not include Instant Win jackpot tokens.
Bonus Choice
The scatter symbol in Gold Blitz Express is a red circle with the word “Bonus” shown across the middle. These bonus scatters can appear on reels two, three, four, and five. You need to land at least three to trigger the scatter payout and the real excitement- the bonus choice.
- If you get the standard three scatters, you get paid 1X your base bet plus the choice between eight Free Spins or five Gold Blitz spins
- Four scatters will pay you 2X your base bet plus the choice between 12 Free Spins or seven Gold Blitz spins
Free Spins
If you select Free Spins as your Bonus Choice option, the game will feature expanding wilds. These expanding green wilds stretch to fill the entire reel and can appear on reels two, three, four, and five. These wilds substitute for all symbols with the usual exception of both the Scatter and Blitz Express symbol. You are able to retrigger the bonus by landing two or more scatter symbols. Two scatters will award an additional five spins, three will get you eight, and four scatters will result in twelve additional spins.
Reminder, the Cash and Collect symbols cannot appear during this feature. You can, however, trigger the Blitz Express and the Rising Rewards Instant Win Jackpot. Like before, if you land both at the same time you’ll play the Rising Rewards Instant Win Jackpot first.
Gold Blitz
The Other choice for bonus selection is the Gold Blitz Feature. In this option, only Collect, Cash, and Blitz Express symbols are shown, all other reel positions are empty. The goal is to collect as many Collect symbols as possible, these are counted on the Accumulation Trail. For every three Collect symbols you capture, you will not only get additional Gold Blitz Spins but increase your multiplier. That multiplier is important because it is applied to all Cash values you capture.
You start with no multiplier until you collect three. Then the 3 cash collect symbols increase your multiplier to 2X and you win an additional five spins. Six collect symbols will award four additional spins and bump the multiplier up to 3X. Nine Collect symbols will grant you three more spins and increase the multiplier to 4X. Lastly, if you make it to the top tier of 12 collect symbols, you will get two more spins and reach the 5X multiplier. If you make it all the way, you will have won an additional 14 spins.
Bonus Recharge
If available in your area, you can opt to buy what Gold Blitz Express calls a “Bonus Recharge.” This option will allow you to extend the bonus after it is completed. A cost will be displayed on your screen to buy an additional spin to hopefully win more prizes and potentially reach the next batch of free spins and a higher multiplier. You can decide to buy back into the action or return to the base game.
Buy a Bonus
Where available, you can decide to purchase a bonus. The Bonus Buy option will let you purchase either the Free Spins or Gold Blitz feature. The price for the bonus depends on your bet size. The bonus scale is three scatters for the price of 100X your base bet and four scatters for 300X. At the $4 bet, the three scatter bonus will cost you $400 and the four scatter bonus goes for $1,200. Three scatters will award eight Free Spins or five Spins in Gold Blitz. If you decide to buy the four scatter option, you can pick between 12 Free Spins or seven Gold Blitz spins.
