Kitty Glitter is an IGT slot that has stood the test of time. With good line hit potential as well as a bonus that can build to something spectacular, it’s a well designed game that continues to get play on casino floors. So it makes sense that it’s also found a home online as well.
Many players get excited about slots like Buffalo Gold, where other symbols can change to the top symbol as the bonus progresses. What many forget is Kitty Glitter predated games like that by years – and it changes symbols to the even more accessible wild symbol for an increased chance of payout.
Here’s what to know about Kitty Glitter, and where you can play it for real money!
Base Game
The Kitty Glitter slot features a 5×3 reel set with 30 lines. With a classic one credit per line structure, bet increments start at a very accessible 30 cents a spin. Of course, they can also go to very high stakes ($300 a spin was available on at least one site).
The core pay table features nine symbols: Five royal symbols, and four premium cat symbols. The Kitty Glitter symbol is wild, and appears on reels 2-5. Bonus symbols only appear on the middle three reels, and you need all three to trigger the bonus.
It’s a pretty simple game, but that also makes it easier to capture some decent line hits in the base game – any five of a kind of cats will get you 10x up to more than 30x, so they can help propel you until you reach the Free Spins Bonus.
Free Spins Bonus
Getting the three Bonus symbols on the middle three reels triggers the Free Spins Bonus, which offers a generous 15 spins.
During the bonus, diamonds can now land on reel 5. Whenever one does, it is collected, and every time you collect three diamond, one of the cat symbols becomes wild on reels 2-5. There’s still wild symbols on the reels too, and the cats do not turn wild on reel 1. Even better, the diamond symbol also acts as a wild, and if you line things up with it, that five of a kind can be helpful to boost the bonus.
The most valuable cat symbol turns wild first, so the real unlocking of value comes as you get more cats turned wild, because it effectively upgrades their value and increases the chance of line hits.
12 diamonds turns all four cat symbols wild on reels 2-5, which is a tough climb to accomplish even in 15 spins, but retriggers are possible, so often the absolute best bonuses are ones where a retrigger takes it to at least 30 games. Of course, in a recent bonus we got as we were writing this review, we didn’t even get the third diamond to turn the first cat wild across a 15 spin bonus, so it’s not a guarantee either.
