Normally a bee swarm would be a little bit of an issue but it’s a good sign when it comes to Konami’s Lucky Honeycomb! In this title, you have the chance to score some big wins thanks to those and their various colored hives.
Read on below to learn what makes the multiple feature elements so enticing before deciding whether or not to take on Lucky Honeycomb for yourself.
Base Game

Lucky Honeycomb is a five reel game offered at a variety of denominations including pennies, two cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, 50 cents, and dollars. We are trying the game out on nickels, $8.80 a spin.
While playing, be on the look out for the golden butterfly on the red background. That is your top symbol followed by the gold brick honey pot, garden basket, mushrooms, and flowering plant. After the premium symbols, you have your traditional royals 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A.
The bee on the red background is a wild symbol. This insect substitutes for all symbols with the exception of the different colored honeycombs. This bee can appear on any of the reels in both the base game and feature options. Note: While the red bee can appear on reel five from time to time, it is only possible as a result of a Lucky Honeycomb feature spin. More on that below!
Lucky Honeycomb Feature
When we were mentioned the bee swarm earlier, we were alluding to the Lucky Honeycomb feature. In both the base game and bonus games, this is a feature that can take place during an active spin or appear at the conclusion of the spin. You will know it when it happens, a beehive appears at the top of the screen to release the bees, an amount that can vary each time.
During this feature, bees appear and will land on various symbols. Where they land is then transformed into a red wild bee. If the swarm happens to land on a honeycomb, it will be changed into a color coordinating wild.
Free Game Features

Not counting the bee swarm, Lucky Honeycomb features three bonus upgrades, each with their own twist to enhance the Free Games Feature. The bonus features can be triggered by landing any one of the different colored honeycombs during the base game. While just one gives you the chance to enter the bonus, if you land three or more in a single spin, you are guaranteed a bonus round.
Before we get into the details of each specific bonus feature, it’s important to note that you can trigger at least eight free games for any bonus trigger, with the possibility to trigger up to 20 free games. Three of the honeycombs equals the standard eight games; if you land four of the honeycombs to trigger the bonus, you get 12 free games. If luck is really on your side and you get a five symbol trigger, you’ll enjoy 20 free games. The outlier here is the Jackpot feature, which awards 10 games regardless of trigger format, but if you trigger it with three or more of the bonus symbols, you get the spins for doing so on top of the 10 (meaning 18, 22 or 30 total spins).
- Double Action: During the Double Action feature, the red honeycomb, you will enjoy more Lucky Honeycomb action! The Lucky Honeycomb feature appears more often during the Double Action Feature leading to the possibility of bigger wins. During this feature, the bee swarm will appear during and after your spin to help out with some wild wins.
- Jackpot: If jackpot wins are what you’re after, you are going to want to hope for the Jackpot Feature. This is the black bag at the top of your screen. During this feature, you will start with 10 free games and be on the hunt for coins that reveal letters that correspond with the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpots. If you collect all the letters to complete one of those words, you win that jackpot. It is possible to trigger the Lucky Honeycomb feature during these games for more chances, and you can win the Mini and Minor multiple times!
- Double Games: Lastly, the Double Games feature will add another set of reels to the free games giving you… you guessed it, double the games. Like with the Double Action and Jackpot Features, the Lucky Honeycomb swarm can make an appearance!

Now that you know what the different features do, it’s time to answer the most important question: Yes, you can trigger more than one feature at once! And the Lucky Honeycomb feature can occur in the bonus too!
Keep your fingers crossed for different bonus combinations, the most lucrative, of course, is the triple combination that awards the benefits of all three features.
