The Midnight Eclipse slot machine is a great example of a game that made High 5 Games so successful. While many of their games featured double symbols, Midnight Eclipse pushes the envelope with triple symbols, amping up the potential by making for some crazy line hits if you got enough of a kind on a line.
The game has successfully made its way online for real money gaming. Let’s take a look at Midnight Eclipse, and also where you can play it now for cash!
Base Game
The online version of the Midnight Eclipse slot machine is a 40-line game on a 5×4 reel set, with a minimum bet of 40 cents. There are five premium symbols and five poker symbols, alongside the wild and Free Games symbols.
What’s unique here is that the top symbol, along with the wild symbol, can appear in single, double or triple symbol configurations. The rest of the premium symbols can appear as single or double configurations. And all of the premium symbols are isolated to either reels 1 and 4 or 2 and 5, meaning the wilds are a critical component of collecting those bigger line hits.
Poker symbols appear on all five reels. With them not appearing in double or triple symbol formats, the best line hit you can achieve on a poker symbol is 13 of a kind.
Because of the difficulty in getting so many symbols on a line, the top line hit payouts can be achieved a few ways:
- 12 of a kind or more wilds as a line hit
- 13 of a kind or more of the top symbol as a line hit
- 14 of a kind of any of the other premium symbols as a line hit
Even not quite achieving that level can yield some pretty strong line hits, so the base game can pack a punch when things align.
Free Games Bonus
Free Games symbols appear on the middle three reels of the Midnight Eclipse slot machine – getting three of them will trigger the bonus.
You only get six free spins, but that’s generally enough for things to happen. Each spin, whenever a wild appears, it will be sticky. The next spin it will upgrade to a double wild, and the spin after that it will upgrade to a triple wild, which it will remain for the conclusion of the bonus.
The premium symbols are again isolated to two reels, but can appear in single or double configurations, meaning the best you can accomplish in the bonus, outside of a line of wilds, is 14 of a kind of any of the premium symbols. Poker symbols continue to appear on any reel and the best you can do there is 13 of a kind, as poker symbols don’t appear doubled.
The pay tables are understandably watered down due to the Wild symbols building up, with enough of them practically guaranteeing high symbol counts by the last couple of spins. It’s really all about building to those 13-15 of a kinds.
