Trains have been a popular slot theme in recent years, and in the history of Monopoly slots there have been previous train-centric successes, like Monopoly Party Train. Monopoly Express Pacific Station takes modern slot elements like three pots and the hold and spin format and assembles a fun and active slot that builds suspense to the end of each bonus feature.
Let’s explore the slot, and we’ll share where you can play it for free, thanks to the Monopoly Slots app!
Base Game

Monopoly Express Pacific Station features a 5×3 reel set. Eight base game pay tables are in play, five lower symbols and three premium. Wilds are also present and can help connect the dots for line hits.
Four train symbols are also found on the reels – Green, Purple, Red and Gold. These can trigger individual features, or if you get six or more trains can trigger the hold and spin bonus. They’re the star of the show, and are the entry point for all the bonuses – there’s no free games or other bonuses outside of the various train-connected ones.
The colors of the train symbols relate to their relative value – Green is the smallest value, Purple next, then Red and finally Gold. When awarded in a feature or hold and spin bonus, each relate to a train that will collect prizes, with each step up having cars with bigger numbers and longer trains. But we’ll get to that when we discuss the bonuses.
The Monopoly slot series is traditionally one that sees a lot of investment in graphics and music, and Monopoly Express Pacific Station is no exception – the music is catchy, the graphics are shiny and detailed, and the overall presentation is highly polished, making for a fun slot from top to bottom.
The version found in Monopoly Slots is faithful to the version you’ll find in casinos in presentation, so you’ll enjoy the same audiovisual experience playing on your phone.
Mystery Stacked Reels

The reels contain mystery stacks that can be filled with any of the pay table symbols, wilds or trains. The stacked element indicates they’ll be matching – this is helpful in triggering bonuses, getting a lot of wilds, or just a good chunk of a matching symbol for a line hit.
Some reel positions can also be randomly replaced with the four different train symbols, helping to define the starting point of the Hold & Spin bonus when enough land at once.
When wild stacks appear in a spin that will award a win, Mr. Monopoly can announce the arrival of wild reels. They will land on one or more reels, connecting with other symbols to provide a win.
Express Feature

Any one train of a given color can set off the pot and award an express feature. It is possible to set off more than one Express Feature color at once if multiple color trains appear in the triggering spin. If a Gold train appears, it can trigger any of the three pots, as well as the Gold Express feature.
When the Express Feature is awarded, you get one spin to collect more trains featuring the color(s) that were triggered. The trains that landed and triggered the bonus to start are locked in place, and the remaining reel spaces respin to collect more trains. (The exception is the Gold train – no additional Gold trains are awarded.)
Then, a train of cars matching each color will roll by, collecting the prizes for that train. Each space that matches that color train will then collect the value of the train that just went by. Each escalating color will generally see longer and more valuable trains come through, so a Purple Express feature will generally be more rewarding than Green, Red more valuable than Purple, and so on.
Train cars largely hold credit prizes, but they can also award the Mini, Minor or Major as well.
Hold & Spin Feature

Six or more trains landing in a single spin will trigger the Hold & Spin bonus. The dog can also come out to assist filling in spaces when you come up short on the initiating spin. The trains collected lock into place, and the Hold & Spin Feature begins.
Like most Hold & Spin features, you get three spins to land another train. Successfully do so and the counter resets. You can land any of the three core color trains (Green, Purple and Red) but upgrades can upgrade a Red train to Gold as well.

A wrinkle here is the addition of the Upgrade ticket – it will upgrade the color of one of the trains that is already locked into place to the next level up. However, Upgrade tickets will not reset the counter, so you need to collect trains.
The bonus concludes when three spins go without landing another train, or all 15 spaces are filled. Filling all 15 spaces awards the Grand jackpot as well.
Then, similarly to the Express Feature, trains roll by awarding credits (or on occasion the Mini, Minor or Major) and each space matching the train color that travels by collects the value of that train.
