One of the more recent enduring series of game titles on the casino floor has been that of IGT’s Prosperity Link video slot machine. With five titles now in the series, there’s a variety of opportunities for great moments in the base game and the bonus, with a unifying Lock & Respin bonus shared across the series.
Let’s take a deeper look at the Prosperity Link series, and along with that we’ll help you find the games at your local casino!
Prosperity Link Slot Machine Base Game
Prosperity Link is a game with a 5×3 reel set and an all ways pays format (which means you don’t need things to line up on a certain line to win – just have symbols appear on successive reels).
The game features 88 credit increments on lower denominations of a given machine, with 8 credit increments on higher denominations. Both low and high limit versions of the game can be found in casinos today.
This is a multi-level progressive game, which means there are two progressives to play for, the Major and the Grand. The Grand progressive jackpot is linked within a bank, with the Major being individual to each machine. The Mini and Minor flat jackpots are also available to play for!
The reels feature golden orbs, showing Cash on Reels prizes that can be won when triggering the Lock & Respin feature, which all the titles in the series feature as a unifying element. Each title also has Free Spins, whose features are a bit different from title to title.
Lock & Respin Feature
The Lock & Respin feature is triggered when 6 or more golden orbs land on the reels in a single spin. It can also be triggered randomly when less than 6 golden orbs land – the golden pot above the reels will fill in enough to trigger the feature.
The Lock & Respin feature works similar to others, but with a twist. You still get the three spins to land another golden orb. If you do, the counter resets to three. However, as you reach a certain number of golden orbs landed, you can unlock additional boards to collect more golden orbs!
The number of boards unlocked depends on how many golden orbs appear on already unlocked boards:
- 9 golden orbs: 2 boards
- 18 golden orbs: 3 boards
- 32 golden orbs: 4 boards
Unlocking those additional boards is key because there tends to be better prizes as you work your way up the boards. And, if at any time you get 15 golden orbs on a single board, filling the board, you win the Grand progressive jackpot!
Fun fact: If you fill in more than one board, you can win the Grand progressive jackpot more than once! Fill in all four, and you can win the Grand four times in a single bonus! The other progressives can appear on individual orbs, meaning you can win the Mini, Minor or Major on a single golden orb, awarded each time one appears.
And with the ability to open as many as 60 spaces across the four boards, there is a lot of potential if you can get to the top of the boards!
Free Spins
Triggering the free spins on the Prosperity Link slot machine is the same across the series: Three Free Spins symbols (which only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4) will trigger the bonus, but they can appear anywhere on each reel.
After that is where the games diverge a little bit. There are three unique Free Spins setups across the five current titles in the series:
- Wild Multipliers: Wan Shi Ru Yi and Ri Jin Dou Jin sees the golden pot throw out wilds with multipliers, which can amp up the payouts when you factor in the all ways pays format of the game. Both games’ golden pot can also provide golden orbs for the Lock & Respin feature.
- Scattered Wilds: Cai Yun Heng Tong sees the golden pot throw out scattered wilds. There are no multipliers, but generally more can come out, which in turn can still help boost the wins in the Free Spins.
- Nudging Wilds: Dian Shi Cheng Jin and Xi Chu Wang Wai (the newest version released in January) feature nudging wilds – partial stacks of wilds on the reels can shift to fill the reel, helping to increase the wins. Even better, the nudging feature can occur on a base game spin as well, adding a fresh wrinkle on the newest titles in the Prosperity Link family.
Each of these Free Spins setups offer an element that leverages wilds to improve the wins and offer some strong potential when the Free Spins trigger. Free Spins are harder to get than the Prosperity Link bonus, but there is some real win opportunities in there when you manage to trigger it!
