Tiki Fortune is a game in a format by AGS that has held up pretty well on casino floors in a variety of themes, and has now made the leap online. With the ability to collect coins for wild reels and the chance at jackpots, it’s a game that has a number of layers to it.
Here’s more details about how the game works, and a look at where you can play it online for real money.
Tiki Fortune Base Game
The game is an unusual 3-4-4-4-3 reel set structure with 50 lines and 75 credit bet increments, meaning the minimum bet on this game is 75 cents. This won’t be the best choice for microbetting, but with so many things going on it’s understandable that they wouldn’t be able to downsize the bets to something like 20 credit bets.
The game is multidenomination, with five bet levels for each denomination. The jackpots are not progressives, and change proportionally to your denomination on this online version. Therefore, like on the casino version, higher bets within a denomination mean higher chances of winning prizes overall.
The game only has eight core pay table symbols, along with the coins and bonus symbols, on the reels. They appear in a stacked formation, so when a symbol comes out on successive reels it’s often on multiple spaces, opening the door to bigger line hits.
Coins and bonus symbols only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.
Wild Reel Feature
When a coin appears, it is collected above that reel. Coins in the base game can have 2x or 3x on them, and that is retained when they are collected. Coins are persistent only to the bet level they were collected; changing the bet will show what has been collected for that denomination and bet level.
Three coins collected atop a reel turns the reel wild for three reels. Each spin, a coin from above will turn the reel wild. If that coin has a multiplier, the reel will have a wild multiple for that spin. Multiple reels can be turned wild at the same time if coins were collected in a way that triggers this on multiple reels concurrently. When a reel is turned wild, all symbols are changed except bonus symbols, which are then both bonus symbols and wild.
Free Spins
When three volcano symbols are collected on reels 2, 3 and 4, the free spins bonus is triggered. 5 free spins are awarded. At the top of reels 2, 3 and 4 a coin will be placed. Each coin can be a standard coin, or have a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier.
Each free spin, one or more coins (along with any multipliers on the coin) will turn the reel(s) wild. So, anywhere from 1-3 reels will be wild each spin. With the chance for more wild reels and bigger multipliers, there’s additional potential in the free spins, but with only five spins, it can be tricky at times for the bonus to deliver.
Prize Feature
Anytime a coin appears, it will fly over to the 10 tikis on the screen. A coin can cause the word jackpot or a prize to appear. Any coin can also trigger the feature to occur, by filling up all the remaining lanterns with credit prizes (between 1000 and 2750 credits) or the word Jackpot.
When all 10 tikis have prize values, the player is able to pick one. If a credit prize is picked, it is awarded. If the word Jackpot is picked, one of the three jackpots will be awarded. Then the tikis are reset, with a prize assigned to the first tiki.
Like other perceived persistence games, it’s important to note that even when 9/10 tikis are filled it, it’s not indicative that the feature is about to hit, but just an indication of how long it’s been since the feature last triggered. The feature is a random trigger.
