Many of IGT’s mechanical reel games have stood the test of time, and the Triple Diamond slot machine is a great example of that. The game has survived for decades on the casino floor, a part of classic game themes like Top Dollar, and has made its way online as well.
The online version is a bit different in that it has more denomination and line variations, helpful for budgets of all sizes. Let’s look at the online version of the Triple Diamond slot machine and where you can play it.
Base Game
In this case the base game is everything, as there’s no bonuses or features to be found – all the money to win can be found in the line hits.
It’s a three-reel game with 9 lines. You can play anywhere from 1 to 9 lines, meaning minimum bet (with dime denomination being the lowest denomination available) is 10 cents a spin – great for those of you who love to play low limit! Of course, with 9 lines and the highest denomination being $50 on the version we looked at, the upper limit is $450.
This version doesn’t penalize you for not playing all lines; the line payouts are the same regardless of how many lines you have activated. The top payout, for three Triple Diamond symbols, is 1,199x your line bet, so at $1 denomination you’ll just avoid a jackpot handpay.
The game’s pay table is incredibly simple – all you have are three bar symbols (which pay mixed), a 7, and a wild Triple Diamond symbol, which multiplies all line pays (except three Triple Diamond symbols) by 3x if one is present on a winning line, and 9x if two are present on a winning line.
A Triple Diamond present is enough to be paid, whether or not there’s other symbols on the same line to connect it with. Two Triple Diamond symbols pay more, again even if there’s nothing else to connect with.
And that’s about it really – it’s a simple game with an easy to master structure, probably why the game has such an enduring place on casino floors, both online and offline.
