The time has come for thousands of slot enthusiasts, manufacturers, and casino property decision makers to descend upon Las Vegas for the biggest gaming conference out there. Of course, we are talking about G2E!
G2E, or Global Gaming Expo, is the event of the year for those of us in the business, we look forward to seeing what new directions the gaming world is heading and learn about new innovations and safeguards. For you, the player, this is the first preview of what slot machines, table games and more the various game makers will be shipping to casino floors over the coming year.
G2E breaks down the attendance on a pretty granular level. More than 25,000 gaming professionals will be in attendance. These gaming professionals represent more than 120 countries, regions, and territories. The G2E website reports that 50% of all commercial, tribal, online casino, and sportsbook operators attend the event. It truly is the place where most of us catch up and reestablish our various casino industry connections. I have been attending the conference every year since I was hired in the field nearly 10 years ago, and for Josh he’s in his sixth year attending.
This year’s annual conference is the 26th installment of the annual conference held at The Venetian Expo. The event spans four days, starting on Monday (Sept. 28) and running through Thursday (Oct. 1). In addition to being able to check out hundreds of booths in the expo hall, registered attendees can elect to participate in more in-depth training sessions. These educational programs include a little bit of everything from marketing initiatives like “The Two-lane Guest Strategy: Reaching New Audiences Without Alienating Your Core” to newer topics like “Managing Growth, Risk, and Fraud Prevention in iGaming.”
Of course, with so much chatter about how AI will impact the industry, there are a few sessions that focus on how practitioners can lean into the technology while also protecting their intellectual property and guests/players. Some of these sessions include “State of AI in Gaming 2026: Research Results on Industry Maturity, Regulatory Readiness, and the Road Ahead” and “The Market of One: Architecting Human-to-Assistant-to-Agent Personalization in Regulated Gaming.” One thing about G2E, they always provide sessions on what will or has already had an impact on the industry. The goal is to educate and empower the various professionals that elect to attend the educational sessions.
In addition to the official schedule that covers things like the expo floor and educational sessions, there are a number of parties and after hour events that let attendees experience some of the flavor of Las Vegas. Some of my best memories include a rooftop party at The Palms Casino Resort, a private event at Drai’s Nightclub, and a fancy dinner that involved only the most luxurious foods.
Over the next couple of days, Josh and I will be at the expo getting the scoop on what matters most to players like you, and even capturing some never-before-seen games to feature on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Each day, we will both be bringing you the best nuggets from the show floor, stories of anything interesting, and a report of what to keep an eye out for in your local casino over the next year. Once the whirlwind week is over we’ll share some analysis of what we thought, what was most exciting and what could be better.
You can follow along our coverage on the Global Gaming Expo tag which we will use for all content again this year. That same tag has our archival coverage in case you wish to look back on previous years’ content.
