There’s a class of slots that feature multiple sets of reels. Is there anything to know about these that could impact payouts?
Regarding multiple games on one machine, then if you made all the games the same, would it limit the odds of payouts?

Nothing to fear here – your odds don’t change because you selected all of the same game vs. a mix of games.
The odds of payouts aren’t reduced because you have multiple of the same game – the setup as a whole still still pay back a percentage overall, even with your money spread across four games.

More than half of players who responded to our poll on Brian Christopher’s YouTube page said they prefer to mix it up each time they play. One fourth play the same game, and about a fifth play different games each time.
Effectively you’ve just got four games going at once, with your bet spread across the four sets of reels. This is why minimum bets on these sorts of games tend to be higher – you’re buying in to more games, and the wager needs to be able to account for everything going on. But that means changing the game doesn’t impact odds because you’re paying for each of those games.
The nice thing about this arrangement is that you can get line hits on some of the reel sets and effectively can lower the volatility of some of the more difficult games, since you’re betting ¼ on each of the four reels instead of 4x on one set of reels.
There’s other perks such as the chance to get multiple bonuses on a single spin, which means you can take a longer break from paying for spins to enjoy the bonuses.
So no, you can select whichever games you want and it’ll be fine – the overall payback of the machine will be the same, and each game has its own wagers and payouts. It’s just an alternative way to play by spreading your wager across multiple sets of slot machine reels.
