While online casinos are still only legal in some states, the level of growth they’ve seen is hard to miss. Meanwhile, with over 1,000 places to gamble in person in the U.S., there’s no lacking of existing physical casino options.
Online casinos allow for more choice, diversity, and flexibility. How will in-person casinos compete with the convenience of playing anywhere on a mobile device?
Do you know how brick and mortar casinos intend on keeping up with online options? There’s tons of games that offer 10,000x max wins and all the way up to 200k-300k times your bet potential. Along with fact you can bet all way down to .05/.10 which offers much more flexibility for comebacks or managing a bank roll. Do you think bigger casinos will do anything to compete with online options in near future? If so, any ideas as to what?

There’s been an interesting shift in recent decades when it comes to casinos. Fears of millennials and younger people being less interested in gambling overall has led to investments in a variety of non-gambling options, from shows and restaurants to spas and luxurious hotels.
The thing online casinos can’t deliver is a 360 degree in person experience where you can eat in a nice restaurant, catch a show, hang out at a bar, maybe gamble too while you’re there, but it’s a more complete experience that the online casinos can’t offer.
What’s telling is that the hosts of these online casinos offer players the chance to do experiential things together – go to a ball game, attend a concert, etc. – and some of those take place at the same casinos they’re in competition with. Of course, that’s in part because some of the online casinos are owned and/or partnered with the physical casinos, so they can leverage that omnichannel opportunity to serve players in both forms.
So you’ll see casinos aim to be more of a multi-purpose destination. Come, stay a night or two, enjoy great food, a show, the spa, and so on. You’ll see them thin out their casino floors (a trend that’s already been happening for awhile in many locations) to give people more room to play with friends when they do play, another trend that’s been evolving in recent years.
But ultimately you’ll just see the casinos evolve their offerings, have they have since they began opening across the country.
