The latest update adds suggestions from Eclipse Gaming Systems.
If you’re a regular reader here, you know we get a lot of questions about how slots have been getting tougher. And while that certainly has been a trend over time with slot machines and their evolution, that doesn’t mean they’re all going that way.
Not all players are the same, and therefore not all slots are designed the same. Different games will be developed with the aim of targeting different types of players. And that means slot makers are still making less volatile games.
We previously shared some tips on finding lower volatility slots, but today we went straight to the source, and asked our friends at a number of slot and other game machine makers some recommendations from their catalog of low volatility slots.
Periodically we meet with various manufacturers, and collect some suggestions from them for this list, so visit periodically for some of the latest information!
IGT
The depth of IGT’s catalog is endless, and so that means there’s quite a few options for players who are looking for something a bit less crazy. Some of their suggestions are newer, like Lucky Ox, a game which still manages to pack exciting moments in on a regular basis. But it also includes classics like Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania and Double Diamond too!
- Wheel of Fortune Diamond Spins 2x Wilds
- Wheel of Fortune Diamond Spins Triple Stars
- Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Deluxe Super Times Pay
- Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Deluxe Double 4 Times Pay
- Lucky Ox
- Wild Pinata
- Regal Riches
- Fortune Coin
- Stinkin’ Rich Skunks Gone Wild
- Top Dollar/Double Top Dollar
- Double Chili Mania
- Double Diamond/Double Diamond Deluxe
- Twin Win
- Golden Goddess
- Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania
Aristocrat Gaming
Aristocrat Gaming is known for making slots with some decent volatility, but that doesn’t mean they don’t tinker in the lower volatility space as well. As they told us when sending over their list, sometimes volatility can mean different things to different players, but these are games they would identify within their line-up as lower volatility:
- Chief Platinum
- Mo Mummy
- NFL Triple Score
- Bank Buster
- Bao Zhu Zhao Fu
Everi
Everi’s library is full of lower volatility options, in part thanks to the design of many of their three-reel hits. Some of the games they recommended are part of incredibly popular game series like The Vault and Smokin’ Hot Stuff, meaning players can also engage with some of their favorite themes while also enjoying a lower volatility experience.
Dynamite Pop, one of the newest games recommended here, has been showing up all over the place and leverages some of the bonus features of another Everi game, Cha-Ching, which has been popular on casino floors.
- Dynamite Pop
- Casper Jackpot Wheel
- Smokin’ Hot Stuff Spin Frenzy
- High Rollin’ Gems
- Blazin’ Grand Signature and Cash Machine Signature
- The Vault Beat the Bank
Light & Wonder
Light & Wonder is a massive company with a number of game studios. With such a large library and team of employees behind them, opinions can differ a bit. We received answers from two sources who tend to have good instincts about these, and suggested the following:
- The Gold Fish series of games
- The Planet Moolah series of games
- The Quick Hit series of games
- Hot Hot Blazing Lock
- Duo Fu Duo Cai 88 Fortunes
- Lion Link, both the Wealth of the Dragon and Prosperous Rooster versions
Konami
Konami picked three titles that are heavily found at casinos. Two of the titles are classics that have been kept up to date on newer cabinets, ensuring players can find them even in casinos that are aggressively updating their machines. We’re particularly fond of Jumpin’ Jalapenos, and Brian Christopher’s fans will certainly recall his “Triple Sparkle ACTIVATE” chant on the Triple Sparkle game.
- Jumpin’ Jalapenos
- Majestic Moon Triple Sparkle
- Ancient Dragon
Eclipse Gaming Systems
Eclipse is a maker of Bingo machines for the Class II tribal gaming market. As such, their machines appear in tribal casinos throughout much of the country, and will be familiar to customers of those casinos.
Here are suggestions from their team for players seeking a lower volatility experience:
- Chicken Pop and Bandit Pop
- Big & Bad Howling Wilds™
- Snow Goddess™
- Treasures of Teo™
- The Big Shake 2®
- Highway Hogs® Pig Out™!
- Wicked Mad Hot Red Hot Winnings™
Gaming Arts
Having partnered with Gaming Arts on Brian Christopher’s game, we were a bit surprised to see our own game on there, but the Gaming Arts team assured us that, within their line-up, it qualifies! Another favorite of ours, Kung Fu Empress, certainly has been a favorite of other players too since its introduction.
- Pop’N Pays series (all themes)
- Pop’N Pays More series (all themes, including Brian Christopher’s Pop’N Pays More)
- Kung Fu Empress
- Big Fat Dragon
- Lucky Pick series
- Cash Quest series
Ainsworth
Ainsworth has a lot of popular favorites, many of them high-denomination games with some volatility to them. But one of their most popular titles over the past few years has been a game that goes a different direction.
The original Quick Spin series was their pick, and we concur – the game offers a lot of action with a wheel spin on average every 55 spins. And even with that frequency, the free spins can come out quite often. So we’re on board with their picks from their library as well!
- Quick Spin Super Charged 7s
- Quick Spin Super Lantern 8s
Takeaway
While many new games may be of a more volatile nature, that doesn’t mean lower volatility games aren’t out there and available. When you’re needing a break from some of the more punishing slots, give some of these a try!

While at the BC Slots area at the Plaza in Vegas last week, I only planned to try Brian’s Pop ‘N Pays More briefly, as a salute to Brian, because it seemed pretty volatile in his videos. I was amazed to get three bonuses, including two shaky-shakys, in a short time! Modest but very welcome wins on 88 cents! So now I know there’s a reason for that. 😂
Thanks for playing at the BCSlots at Plaza area as well as playing Brian’s game, Annette! We’re glad you had a lot of fun – it can be tough at times, but so can any slot!
Hi Brian i notice there were no Aristrocat games on the list does that mean they are all high volatility thank you . Ron
Hey Ron! No, Aristocrat does have low volatility slots, we just weren’t able to confirm any titles with them before publication. The same goes for Light & Wonder. Should we confirm them in the future, we’ll update the post!
Since we last updated the article, we were able to add suggestions from both manufacturers, so we now have a more complete list of recommendations to share.
I like seeing Ancient Dragon on the list. Been playing it for years. Hard to find because of newer machines. Just played it last week and it felt good to play and win. Thanks.
Thanks Beverly! Konami told us that it’s available on some of their newer machines, so that can give casinos the ability to keep it on the floor, so hopefully that means you’ll see more of them going forward!
Hi – I’m trying to reach Caesars Diamond status by year end. and am a few thousand TC short. Can you recommend a specific Caesar’s property in Vegas that has a couple of these machines (specifically for churning Tier credits and saying close to breaking even over long playing terms and not necessarily hitting the big one)?
Hi Jason – Caesars’ slot finder can help you see which properties have which machines. We don’t have specific knowledge on this but their tool is quite helpful to verify. It’s important to remember though that even low volatility slots can have losing sessions that burn cash quickly, so just because they’re lower volatility doesn’t mean it’s a lock you can do what you hope to do.
Look for the tier credit multiplier days available soon especially the 10X at thee and of the year
