If my writing seems a little off this read through, there are a few things I want to bring to your attention before we carry on. The first being that as I write this I have just returned home from a whirlwind trip with Brian Christopher and the rest of the team for Rudies Weekend. While Rudies Weekend is tiring (in the best way) enough, the second reason as to why I may be a little off comes with a dollar sign and five digits.
I am elated to report back that “Rudie Luck” was alive and well during the four day event that took place at Plaza Hotel & Casino. While I was doing pretty decent during the six days I was there, my biggest win came Sunday just before checking in with my host. Before I talked to my host, I wanted to play a little more to see what types of comps I might qualify for. I heard and followed the siren song of Light & Wonder’s Frankenstein, settling into the cabinet that had the highest major. To my utter shock, after only one spin the “free games” symbol landed on reels one, three, and five triggering the bonus. I always like to play $1 denomination when my budget allows, and thankfully this was one of those times!
While I’ll scream that $1 denomination bonuses should always pay well until the day I die, that is not always the case so I headed into the feature with an air of skepticism. Thankfully, within the first bonus spin or two the “it’s alive” feature slid into the first reel position and five Frankenstein heads locked into place. If you’ve played this game before, you’ll know that the color of the Frankenstein heads indicates which level of payout will be bestowed to the player. The yellow ones are the good ones, but even then, there is a wide range of values. Never in my wildest dreams did I think my one yellow Frankenstein head would yield the super progressive nevermind when it was at times two! Just like that, I secured my biggest jackpot win worth an astonishing $23,752.47!

Note: Prior to this win, my biggest was a $21,943.07 payout on Triple Red Hot 777. This was also a $5 bet on $1 denomination! On this most recent Vegas trip, I also landed a maxed out major ($1,000) while playing this bet on Dragon Link.
When not on the floor chasing wins, I spent my time surrounded by friends and meeting other members of Brian’s gaming community. This was my third or fourth year attending and I always appreciate the schedule of events and thought put into each activity. Along with the other 300 Rudies in attendance, I enjoyed a little bit of everything Plaza has to offer from playing bingo as a group to enjoying a meal in Oscar’s and Hash House A Go Go with my crew.
Of course, we also made time to try our luck with both an official “mega group pull” hosted by Brian and mini group pulls we organized ourselves. While I can’t spoil the outcome of the mega group pull, I can share that the majority of the self-organized group pulls that I participated in were profitable. I love group pulls of any variety because I view it as hedging my bet. Even if we don’t turn a profit on the game of choice, the chances are we won’t lose all our money and it is a guarantee I’ll spend less than if I was left to my own devices (thanks, $1 denomination).
As for my favorite souvenir (because they won’t let you take home the giant check), the Saturday night signature party gave me the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items to benefit a cause close to Brian’s heart, CHAMP Camp. As soon as I saw the vintage Cleopatra slot glass set in a custom Rudies frame, I knew I had to bid and quickly made it my mission to take it home. Thankfully, my competitive spirit extends past the slot floor and I secured the highest bid to be able to take home a beautiful piece of casino history.

Great Write-up! It was a great weekend. I can’t wait until next year!
Thank you for joining us Beverly! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Courtney are you a regular correspondent on ‘Flip the Switch?’ You sure are a lucky gambler and an inspiration to other young slot players! As an ole lady whose biggest win as a low roller was just shy of a handpay, I marvel at the wins I see at Rudie’s Weekends. Timing is indeed everything in life. Believe me, I know. Best to you and the team at Flip The Switch, including of course Josh and his own Major this Rudies Weekend. That was so cool.
