This one’s easy – you should use your casino players card, almost always, when you’re at a casino.
A players card is a sort of tit for tat agreement with the casino – you give them information about the type of player you are, and in return they will extend you offers based on that data to invite you back for a future visit.
You’ll also generate earned comps as you play, which are comp(limentary) dollars that can be spent at the casino. And finally, you’ll accrue tier credits, which have no monetary value on their own but are instead a scorecard that determines what tier in the program you’ll have – higher tiers tend to offer more perks and bigger discounts.
None of those offers are available when you don’t play with your card, because the casino doesn’t have the data it needs to provide all this.
Some players swear by the fact that slots pay less when their card is in the casino, or they only win jackpots without it. Brian Christopher has won virtually 100 percent of his jackpots by having his card in the machine. So you can check through our various videos and see we’re not being hampered by the card, however anecdotal that evidence will be.
Casino players card systems are actually not able to communicate with the slot in a way that would determine payback. Playing without a card leaves money on the table, so given the two choices you should absolutely use your card – nearly always.
So why nearly? The one exception to this rule is you’re going to the casino and are not going to play a lot or you plan to play at a much lower level than you’re used to playing.
Anytime activity takes place by using your players card whether it be claiming a gift, using a gift shop discount or of course playing casino games, the casino will note you were on property, and count that day towards your gaming average.
A no play (just claiming a gift) or low play day will of course water down that average, which can also lead to your offers being reduced. So in those cases, it may be wise not to present your card in any way on those particular casino visits.
Otherwise, ALWAYS use your players card at the casino to ensure you get the offers that casinos are willing to extend for your spend of time and money visiting them!
