We often get asked what it takes to get a casino host. We’ve shared tips in the past, and addressed what hosts look for. Today’s question falls in this bucket, but gets a bit more specific:
I have been focusing on Caesars properties. I have spent more money in the last year achieving their Diamond plus without any multipliers happening within 4 months after my first trip in June, and the 2nd in August of 2024 with a trip to a local Caesars property. I have been back to Las Vegas twice this year alone. Plus I’m booked again.
So why is it so hard for it to get noticed by a casino host? My level for a three day trip is about $5000 loss. What am I doing wrong?
Matt
Caesars is a national company, so sometimes with them it will be a bit different than a regional or local property than in Las Vegas, both of which you mentioned.
As to why it’s hard to get noticed by a host, if you play in different properties each time (such as a locals property one visit and a Las Vegas one the next), you might be considered a one-off visitor, even with your status, and that may or may not be enticing to a host, whose job is to build a relationship across a series of visits, and encourage more of those visits.
But your play is certainly at a level where a host would take notice if given reason to, and so that leads to the easiest thing you can do: Ask to speak to one.
You might find it easier to do this at a locals property than in Las Vegas, so that might be the right place to start. In a national chain like Caesars, local hosts can often either book in other markets on your behalf, or connect with a colleague to give you a warm hand-off to someone more local.
With Las Vegas in particular, there’s a lot more noise – more guests, more properties, more everything. So you are less likely to see a host in person on the ground due to the law of numbers. Some casinos in Las Vegas have more accessible hosts than others, and some companies do too.
So that’s probably the best way to get started, and presuming they take you on (we would expect at that budget someone would), they can then help you with better access to rooms or restaurants or whatnot, and can review your comps against your play to make sure you’re getting what is expected for a player at your level.
