Brian Christopher will sometimes like to rapid fire spins to change his timing. This isn’t possible everywhere, and we periodically get questions about it:
Why doesn’t Australia allow rapid fire spins?

And
Here in Ontario we are not permitted the quick stop of the reels. I’m wondering when Brian does that, is it just to change his timing for the next spin or is there a chance the outcome can be different than allowing the spin to complete normally? Thanks for the answer.

As to why it’s not permitted in some markets, regulations simply differ in various markets. Some markets allow things that others don’t, and that can mean some slots work slightly differently, or aren’t even available in certain jurisdictions.
Our best understanding is the reason why rapid fire or quick stopping isn’t available everywhere is a responsible gaming step, to avoid players playing too fast and burning through their cash. But we can’t say we’re experts in every jurisdiction, so other reasons could certainly be in play.

As far as Brian’s concerned, it is just a timing change, as once you hit spin to start the reels moving, that’s when the outcome is determined. So whether you let the reels come to a stop on their own or quick stop them, you won’t see a difference in that outcome. But the timing of the next spin will likely shift based on how you play.
Now, will you know if you actually improved things for yourself? Not really, because you’ll never know what the outcome would have been if you spun at a different time. So it’s more for our own personal benefit than anything else, but it’s also neutral in terms of outcomes.
However, quick stopping usually means moving on to the next spin more quickly. And with that, you also will make more wagers, each of which is expected to over time contribute to the house. As such, while spinning faster may be fun and bring the next bonus a bit quicker because you’ve moved through more spins, it also means you’ll likely have bet more in a shorter amount of time, which will likely yield quicker losses overall.
