Have you ever encountered a slot that is disabled for an extended period of time? It’s possible the machine is working fine, but the casino is holding it for a specific player:
While at Bally’s AC. I spent a considerable amount of time playing a must hit by game. On my second day there I went back to play some more. The game was out of service. I checked from the am until well into the pm. Still out. So I asked an attendant to unlock it for me. He said the person who locked it all day was more important than me. He would not unlock it. Since I am at the top tier at Bally’s I was not a happy gambler. Is this normal procedure?

This is one of those casino by casino things, but we have absolutely heard stories like this before at other casinos, and have witnessed it a few times ourselves. It’s a bit more rare for a machine to be locked for lengthy periods, and more common to be locked for a shorter period (a bathroom break for many, dinner for a smaller subset of people).
For the casino, it’s a calculation whether they want to frustrate other players to try to superserve a big spending one. We’re a bit surprised to hear that you being a top tier player was waved off; normally that’s the sort of thing a slot attendant would want to verify before saying something about someone being more important.
In these situations we do recommend sharing your feedback with the casino; if they begin to realize they’re angering five bigger players to serve another, they may rethink their position next time. If you have a host, let them know you didn’t end up playing as much as you planned because this machine was blocked off.
Casinos do listen to player feedback quite a bit when it comes to policy, games they install and so on. Sometimes it may not seem like they do, but we’ve seen changes made quite often when enough players speak their mind. It’s a great reminder to all of us that we are consumers of what the casinos offer, and our voices do matter.
Especially in a market like Atlantic City, there’s a lot of other casinos who’d welcome your business, so be sure to share with them your displeasure.

Wait , is it my understanding that they can fix the slot machines for your advantage?
I watch another player on line tell one of the big wigs at the casino as he was walking conveniently by him and Jason told him make sure that you “FLIP THE SWITCH” within 3 spins he had a jackpot. Even someone made a comment about it.
Thanks for the question, Rhenna! We tackled it here:
