The Basics
FanDuel provides exactly the sort of experience you expect from a sportsbook. Like the other sportsbooks, they’ve got same game parlay and other high margin options front and center, but you’re a click or two away from the standard betting options.
- Very clean, streamlined layout
- Ability to compare individual bets to a parlay on one screen
- Learning area front and center as an option in the main menu
- Free Play prize pools available for additional fun
- No universal loyalty program, unlike competitors, although you can sometimes earn comps for a casino local to certain markets
- Feels particularly Parlay-heavy in approach, which may not appeal to all
Exploring FanDuel Sportsbook

Logging into FanDuel Sportsbook shows a popular Same Game Parlay bet front and center, and then to the left and below access to most of the traditional options players expect from a sportsbook. Overall it’s among the least cluttered of the options we’ve reviewed, which is nice for those just looking to get to a certain area to make their wagers.
Going into a league shows the traditional three basic types of wagers all in a row for each game. FanDuel was one of two sites we reviewed that as you selected multiple wagers would show both separate bets and parlay options at the same time, so you could compare and contrast in real time. We like this approach.
We saw minimum wager requirements of merely 9 cents – certainly an accessible minimum for just about anyone. FanDuel had a button we thought was interesting that lets you automatically accept odds movements, as odds can shift while you’re browsing and building a bet, sometimes not in your favor.
Since your odds are not locked in until you make your wager, you can have it warn you and ask for confirmation before doing so, or accept those changes automatically. Depending on whether you’re all in for a certain wager, or doing it because you like the odds at the time of wager, you can confirm what makes more sense for you at that time, and it’s easy to turn on or off.
Next to each game is a Same Game Parlay button for building a multi-leg bet on a single game. Sportsbooks have been leaning into this higher margin aspect of sports betting and FanDuel is no exception.
Like their chief competitor, DraftKings, they offer something called SGP+, which basically allows a same game parlay leg (or legs) within a larger standard parlay. The entire same game parlay must resolve successfully to complete that leg, just like any other parlay leg.
And for even more Parlay emphasis, they now have the Parlay Hub, which lets you look at, and easily wager on, popular parlay options, including SGP and SGP+ wagers.
One thing we like is FanDuel doesn’t presume everyone there knows what they’re doing, so they have a learning area in the popular options in the left menu. While we know you’re learning reading our Explore Sports Betting guide here on Flip The Switch, if you need a refresher it’s great that it’s right there.
Rewards Program
Like on their online real money gaming casino side, FanDuel has no universal rewards program. This means they’re not tied to a national provider, nor do they have their own online-centric program. While they have rolled out a rewards program with tiers that let you earn perks on the FanDuel Casino offering, the same is not currently true for their Sportsbook.
Instead, in various markets they offer the opportunity to link to specific casinos to earn comps. In Michigan, for instance, you can earn comps towards Motor City Casino.
While this is certainly better than nothing, if that’s not your casino of choice, or if you tend to travel, this isn’t necessarily the most satisfying option. And compared to DraftKings, where in lieu of casino comps you have a national online program that earns you perk specific to DraftKings, you sort of get a muddled mix from Fan Duel that doesn’t quite scratch either itch.
Other Promotions
Their popular menu area in the upper left offers easy access to any Promos running, as well as Profit Boost opportunities where the odds have been improved on certain bets.
There were quite a few promotional opportunities listed at the time we conducted this review, and like any other online betting options we recommend players review, and activate, any promotions they can take advantage of to get the best scenario for their wagering dollar.
