When it comes to NBA betting, there are plenty of options at the BetMGM online sportsbook.
The most popular, and most basic, is the moneyline bet, where you simply bet on the winner of the game. Another one is Over/Under points, where you bet if the total number of points scored is Over or Under a certain number.
But that isn’t all.
Here are five unique ones.
To Win the Tip
This is a quick one – which player will win the opening tip?
For example, in a Suns-Clippers game, Mark Williams (Suns) could be -115 to win the tip against Ivica Zubac (Clippers) at -105.
If a member of the Suns gains possession after the opening tip and a player bets on Williams, it would be a winning bet.
Race to 5, 10, 15, 20 Points
For every game, there is a race to 5, 10, 15 and 20 points. All it means is which team will get to 5, 10, 15 or 20 points first.
For example, in a Celtics-Knicks game, the Celtics could be -110 in the race to five points. If the Celtics get to five points first, then the bet would be a winner.
Double-double
A double-double is a statistical achievement when a player records double digits (10 or more) in two of the following five categories in a single game: points, rebounds, assists and steals.
For example, in a Warriors-Lakers game, Steph Curry might be +110 to record a double-double.
If he records 31 points and 11 assists, it would be a winning bet.
Name the Finalists
This isn’t tied to a game, but the NBA Finals.
All it is is selecting the two teams that meet in the NBA Finals. For example, the Knicks-Thunder could be +2500. If the two teams meet in the Finals, it will be a winning bet. Any other combination would be a loser.
The odds on this bet would be higher since it’s a longer-shot type of bet.
Division of Winning Team
This isn’t specific to a game, either, but rather the end of the season, and which team wins the NBA championship.
It may look something like this:
- Northwest +100
- Atlantic +110
- Central +120
- Pacific +150
- Southwest +150
- Southeast +225
If you bet on Northwest and the Thunder repeat as champions, that division would be a winning bet. All other divisions would be losers.
