When you book with MGM Resorts for a stay in Las Vegas (whose portfolio includes the fully smokefree Park MGM), your casino offers can oftentimes include a food and beverage credit that can be used for, among other things, food at participating restaurants.
Oftentimes players wonder what qualifies as a participating restaurant. Well, MGM has a helpful tool online, but it isn’t always the easiest to find. But their list of participating restaurants and outlets can be a helpful starting point as to where you can use your credits.
The list can sometimes lag behind the current allowed list, so you can always double check with a listed restaurant to confirm they still take it (or check with one not listed in case it was omitted by mistake).
To use the credit, you simply charge the room you’re staying in, and participating outlets should see those charges (minus tips, which are still on you to pay) being removed from the bill up until your limit for the credit included in your offer.
Generally, food courts and food outlets not owned by MGM are left off the list, while ones run by MGM are accepted, but there can be exceptions in both directions, and sometimes things are set up incorrectly. We had a food court transaction go through once without asking for it, for instance, and had to ask for a manual adjustment when a restaurant that should have went through didn’t.
It’s also important to note that the list of outlets that accept MGM Rewards Points, the comp dollars you earn as you play, can differ at times, as sometimes they can accept those at the register whereas the room charge, while it may go through, might not be reduced by the food and beverage credit. Some Starbucks locations are great examples of this.
That said, at least the list gives those planning to visit Vegas a set of options to start with for planning purposes, making it a bit easier to get an idea of where credits may be accepted.
