Modern slot machines are featuring more ways to spin than ever. Many now have spin buttons on both sides of the bet panel, the bet panel itself will often allow a spin, and some slots still have the classic arm. With so many ways to spin, does it ultimately matter which you use?
Does the RNG change depending on the spin button? My spouse and I love to play together, and if a machine has a spin button on each side, even better! But does it really matter which button is used and when?

Since there’s only a single RNG governing the operation of a game, there’s no difference in which spin button you ultimately opt to use to make your wager.
The addition of more buttons in recent years has come out of the category of convenience and comfort. Some people are left handed, sometimes players share a machine as you and your husband.
Mobility issues can mean players hope to pull up to the side of a machine, and depending on which side is available, the button placement can become critical. Then there are the times when a spin button is acting up – having a second button can allow the machine to still be played.
Aside from placement, there isn’t any other differences. Regardless of which you leverage, when pressed, it initiates a sequence that includes making your wager. That process is the same for all of the buttons, so you and your husband can play along and regardless of which button each of you choose to spin the reels, it all flows to through that same process.
Of course, as Brian Christopher says, what’s more important is your timing, since it’s the microsecond you press the button that gets that process in motion in the first place. So when you go to push that button, make it count, but most importantly, have fun with that entertainment budget when gambling at the casino.
