Getting Started with Congo Cash XL
Congo Cash XL features up to 1,296 ways to win. The game pays when matching symbols line up from the left most column, hopefully, all the way to right. The game is available at a wide variety of bets ranging from 50 cents all the way up to $100 per spin.
For our purposes, we’re going to break the game down on a $4 bet. On that wager, six gorillas lined up from left to right are worth $32. They are followed by the big cat worth $12.80 for six, baboons are $8 for six, and six lemurs are $6.40 as are the tree frogs. Following up the jungle critters, we have the royal symbols. Six of the As, Ks, Qs, Js, and 10s will pay $4.80.
Linehits get some help along the way thanks to a wild symbol that looks like a diamond on a purple background. Those wild diamonds can only appear on reels two, three, four, five, and six. The wild diamond substitutes for all symbols with the exception of the scatters. We will break down the scatters and their features below but for right now, what you need to know is there are two scatter symbols- XL and Congo Cash.
Jewel Feature
The Jewel Feature can be triggered in both the base game and Free Game feature. The Jewel Feature is triggered by landing the orange butterfly on booth reels one and six. The butterfly can only appear on these two reels. In addition to the butterfly, you need to land at least one of those XL and Congo Cash scatter symbols that we mentioned before. Both of these symbols are easy to spot, they are branded with either XL and Congo Cash and sport the same horizontal border that is seen on the butterfly symbol.
The XL and Congo Cash symbols can appear where the butterflies do not, on reels two, three, four, and five. When you get the required butterflies along with at least one Congo Cash or XL symbol, you’ll win a prize from The Gem Board located at the top of reels two, three, four, and five. You will score the lowest tile off the board that corresponds with the reel where you landed the scatter symbol(s).
When you land the XL symbol, you will be awarded anywhere between two to five jewels. The Congo Cash symbol will only award one jewel.The more jewels, the more prizes.
Now, let’s talk about those jewel prizes! Possible prizes include red gems with credits, purple gems with bonus prizes, or free games shown on a blue jewel. The bonus prizes are the jackpots, you can win either the Minor, Major, or Grand, by securing one of the purple jewels that displays the name of the prize.
When blue free games are up for grabs in the base game, you can win either eight, 10, 12, 15, 20, 50, or an impressive 100 free games. When this feature is triggered from within the free games, you’ll still score additional games but on a much smaller scale- either three, five, eight, or 10.
Free Games Feature
Getting into the Free Games Feature is a little more challenging than on other titles. You can only trigger the free games feature from within the Jewel Feature. When launched, the reel that contained the jewel that initiated the trigger will have a guaranteed wild diamond on that reel for each spin. If you’re lucky enough to retrigger the feature, the reel responsible for the retrigger will also now have a guaranteed wild diamond.
The Gem Board is active during the free games feature. Remember, you can accumulate additional free games after the initial launch. Blue gems along the top of the reels can be captured and convey three, five, eight, or 10 games. You’ll also have the chance to score the other Gem Board inclusions we’ve talked about- red credits and purple bonus prizes.
