A Grand jackpot progressive is a rare occasion to accomplish for any slot player, regardless of bet. They’re purposefully designed to be a challenge to achieve, and something to celebrate when they arrive.
Brian Christopher has landed the Grand a few times… but in a weird quirk, nearly all of them have happened during live streams… and one happened on a less than $1 bet.

The Surprising First Grand Jackpot on Mighty Cash
Brian’s first grand was almost a weird fluke. It occurred during one of his Rudies lives, a stream that originates just for his Rudies fan club. However, this one was a bit unusual in that he stuck to a single game for the whole Rudies live: Mighty Cash, by Gimmie Games/Aristocrat, as opposed to jumping around a bit as he normally would.
It was also unusual as Brian was betting lower than normal, showing off a bet he had become fond of where you lower the coin bet. At one point he began rapid firing at a minimum 80 cent bet on the 10 cent denomination of the game. He gets a bonus, retriggers, and then lands the hold and spin… with both a Minor and Grand coin dropping.
He also managed to fill the screen, which is when he learned the Grand jackpot doesn’t get doubled in that scenario (the Minor bonus does). His more than $7,200 bonus in all was more than 9000x his 80 cent bet! It definitely set a high water mark to attempt to clear.
A Game He Hated Becomes a Grand Favorite
Brian avoided Coin Combo by Light & Wonder for awhile – he didn’t have great luck on it and wasn’t particularly fond of the pays. But this session certainly brought him around on the game series, and he’s played it a lot more since.
But in this case he played it while on location in Oklahoma with his friend Slot Queen, who reminded him of the high progressives on the game . He was betting a lot bigger this time – up to $26.40 a spin in fact – on the Hurricane Horse version. After a rough start, he got a solid line hit, a good beginning to his comeback and it was just the beginning.
He got the jackpot pot to close (the red pot), and succeeded in upgrading the prizes, one of the possibilities in this version. His lowest prize on the board was $450, but the Major becomes the Grand and the Grand a Double Grand when things are upgraded.
Brian continued to pick and got what would be the Major, but it had been upgraded to the Grand! It was worth more than $12,500, good for a nearly 500x win even at that high bet level.
An Unexpected Grand on a Difficult Game
His next most recent Grand jackpot, also caught during a live stream, was on the Everi game Emperor’s Tree. This game can be notoriously difficult at times to succeed on, but the progressive jackpot was a great way into a big win. This, too, was on a $26.40 bet.
Five progressives are up for grabs on the picking screen, and like some Everi games, the smallest ones can be eliminated as part of the picking process. When Brian got into the picking bonus and managed to eliminate the Minor and the Major, there was no way for him to go home with less than the $4,600 Mega. However, his very next pick was the third Grand, delivering an $11,418.60 win!
Rapid Fire Full Screen of Orbs
His latest as of this posting occurred during yet another live stream, but this time he was playing IGT’s Prosperity Link. New versions had recently come out so he was playing through different versions. After upping his bet, he decided to rapid fire.
What he wasn’t expecting was a rapid fire stop to yield 15 orbs on a spin. Getting six or more orbs triggers a hold and spin bonus, but getting all 15 on the trigger not only yielded a bonus with the chance to fill more boards, but also a Grand jackpot for filling a board as well!
Of course, he won more than the grand, thanks to the bonus and also landing a Minor at the start. But the more than $10,000 win was made possible thanks to that very unusual circumstance of all the orbs landing at the start!
It’s a fun coincidence that out of his four Grand jackpots, all four to date have been caught live. Given his bet sizes, it’s likely more will occur in the future, and it remains to be seen whether these will be captured during content filming, or if they too are caught during live streams! His bucket list still includes not only getting the grand on an Aristocrat link game (Lightning Link, Dragon Link, etc.), but also the million dollar Grand on Dragon Link!

What is your biggest win on a penny machine?
Hi Susan! We don’t have a specific answer on that one – Brian’s had some sizable jackpots on penny denomination, but nothing of the magnitude found in this article (even the Grand jackpot on 80 cents found here was a dime denomination bet). But he has had things like the Unicow and 15 gold buffalo heads on a penny denomination wager, and those both delivered jackpots, so it’s certainly in the thousands of dollars on a penny denomination bet.
