We’re not trying to start a fight, but…
Which is better: The Strip or Downtown?
Carol M.
We’re not going to pick a horse in this race. Both have their pros and cons.
The strip is what most people think of nowadays when they think of Vegas – massive luxurious resorts, lots of high-end dining options, lavish shows and high-end gaming options.
Downtown is more of the old school Vegas feel, with throwback vibes all over. Food options tend to be more accessible with a few high end options mixed in. Lower table minimums with better rules are accessible. The Fremont Street Experience livens things up in the core of downtown.

Players who answered our poll on the Brian Christopher Slots YouTube page were mixed – about a quarter chose the strip vs. 20 percent who chose downtown as their preferred spot. But 37 percent liked both, and almost 20 percent haven’t been to Vegas at all.
Both the Strip and Downtown have smokefree gambling options; Park MGM is the first and currently only smokefree resort on the strip, while the air-separated smokefree room at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is the only fully smokefree option downtown.
Those wanting an upscale experience certainly have more options on the strip than downtown, but those seeking a better gamble, particularly when it comes to video poker and table games, will find downtown more amenable to those desires.
They both offer fun experiences – Downtown has the Slotzilla zip line, for instance, while the Strip has opportunities like the High Roller Observation Wheel – so if you want to step away from the gambling there’s certainly options. Downtown’s Fremont Street Experience puts an emphasis on outdoor live music at night, whereas the Strip has a lot of opportunities to sightsee as you go from property to property.
So both have their benefits, and as we talk with players, many will benefit one vs. the other for all sorts of reasons – what they play, what types of food they prefer, what offers the casinos give, what non-gambling experiences they hope to tackle, and so on.
Ultimately that will shape how an individual player sees each, and so when it comes to which is better, we recommend trying both and forming your own opinion! But hopefully the above helps guide you where you may think you have a better time.

Hi Brian and the team
Are you in Vegas between April 21st and May 3rd by any chance? If so where and when , I love your vlogs and I am a massive fan from England..
Hey Sandra – our entire 2024 Vegas schedule is on Brian’s website – unfortunately you’re going to miss both his April and May visits by a couple of days on either side. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
What’s the significance of the markings above the letter “u” in the logo Rude?
It’s supposed to look like a smile – the U is the mouth and the dots are the eyes!
