Triple pot style games are exploding in number, in part because players gravitate towards them. While the online space hasn’t been as fast to capture that momentum (probably in part because it’s not as visible to players as it is walking around a casino and seeing the pots), games like Dark Waters Power Combo are stepping up to fill the void.
With an all ways pays structure and a savvy set of bonus upgrades connected to the three treasure chests that can be triggered, there’s a lot of potential packed into this slot.
Let’s look at how this one works, and we’ll share where you can play it online in the United States!
Base Game
Dark Waters Power Combo is a 6×4 reel set, with all ways pays meaning 4,096 ways to win. Minimum bet is a quite accessible 20 cents a spin, but you can get as high as $50 a spin in the version we reviewed.
There are 10 base game pay table symbols, five poker symbols and five premium symbols. In addition, there’s wilds, coins with credit prizes, Collect symbols (which capture the prizes on the coins and by default appear on reel 6 only), and three gem symbols, linked to the three treasure chests (this game’s version of pots) above.
There are four flat jackpot prizes, that change proportionally to bet, and are also available on the coins.
Free Spins
Whenever a token appears, there is a chance at triggering the free spins. There are three colored tokens, linked to the matching treasure chest colors above. Each is linked to a free spins upgrade:
- Purple: Giant reels, which expand the reels to a 6×6 configuration, offering 46, 656 ways to win
- Red: Multi-collect, which means collect symbols are now present on every reel, and more than one can land on a single spin
- Blue: Golden reel, which fills one reel with coins each spin, increasing the value of a Collect symbol landing
More than one bonus upgrade can trigger, and the three upgrades combine in ways that help to further enhance the bonus when multiple are active at once.
Retriggers are possible, either activating another upgrade or re-triggering the same upgrade. Only one retrigger is possible per spin, and each retrigger awards three additional spins, regardless of if another upgrade is activated at that point or not.
