My job is, at its most simplistic, pushing buttons. Hours of videos every week showing me pushing buttons to place bets on various slot machines at casinos on land and at sea. But it isn’t always required to do so, and a player wonders whether I’d ever try something else:
Brian, what’s your opinion on auto spins… do they work for you or against you? I don’t see you doing them often. Thanks!
Ryan K.
This comment came in on one of my videos shot in a casino. It’s incredibly rare to see an auto-spin scenario on a physical slot machine – in the US at least. I’ve seen it on a couple of slots on cruise ships, but on a slot machine on land I can only recall seeing it recently on “Big Hot Flaming Pots”, where you can autospin the bonus.
Presumably, auto spins aren’t found on land-based casinos as a responsible gaming measure – automating gambling speeds up how quickly spins are taken, somewhat takes the control out of the player’s hands (even if they made the choice to do it), and so overall I’m not the biggest fan of the idea.
Even if it did exist, I prefer to hit the button, because with what I do with my content I’m entertaining you as players, and that means maybe I want to fast spin a few spins, or apply some organic windex, or talk about something that just happened on the screen. As such, I like to be in the driver’s seat.
With online slots, I have tinkered with the idea on occasion. I’ll decide how much I want to spin and will set it up. This is mostly to change things up on occasion, but still isn’t my preferred option. Regular viewers know It’s All About Timing, and the main reason why that’s true is it’s based on my timing, and not that of an automated spinner. I tend to use it when I’m busy, like making dinner and want some entertainment in the background, or have it on while working (yes I do work too, haha).
As far as whether they work for or against you, they’re neutral – in the long run, you won’t do any better or worse than manually spinning. So if that’s your preferred method of play, you won’t be harmed by it, but you won’t be helped by it either.
