White Hat Studios isn’t the first to create a game with fish that can pay, but their take on it is certainly quite engaging. Big Catch Bass Fishing features cash on reel prizes on the fish, won when the fisherman catches them.
In the Free Games, you have the ability to activate one or more upgrades, based on how many times you collect the fish prizes with fishermen, creating one of those bonuses that can build suspense.
Let’s take a look at the slot, and where you can play it with real money.
Base Game
With only 10 paylines, Big Catch Bass Fishing can seem like a somewhat difficult game, but line hits come pretty easy. There’s nine base game pay table symbols, five royals and four premium. There’s also the fish, which carry dollar amounts but can themselves offer line hits for lining up enough fish on a pay line, and the fisherman, who collects the values on the fish but also serves as a wild symbol.
Fisherman don’t come out on the base spins, so the cash on reels prizes on the fish are only relevant during the Free Games.
Finally, there’s bonus symbols, of which three or more trigger the Free Games. But more bonus symbols can give you more games; 3, 4 or 5 bonus symbols give you 10, 15 or 20 free games to start.
Free Games
After you trigger the bonus, you’re first presented with a screen of fish. Your pick will reveal an upgrade that is active for the whole bonus. This can include cash on reels prizes added to other premium symbols, additional fish, additional fishermen, more free games, a fisherman upgrade that collects the fish multiple times, and respins to try to catch more fish.
Each time the fisherman comes out, he’ll collect all the prizes on the fish and any other symbols that have been upgraded to include cash on reels prizes. He’ll also add a segment on the progress bar, which can lead to more spins with a multiplier on all fish collected by the fisherman for those spins, or the ability to pick more upgrades.
Up to four upgrades can be activated during the bonus (out of nine available), and up to a 10x multiplier for the fisherman. Getting to those top upgrade and multiplier scenarios is the way to huge win potential.
Bonus Buy
You can skip right to the bonus with a bonus buy, priced at 100x your stake. You’re guaranteed three bonus symbols, but like the natural trigger can offer up to five, with more spins awarded for more bonus symbols.
