Great slot formats will pull people in, but marrying those great formats to popular themes that players know and love can take them to another level. This is a model the team at Playtech know very well, and their partnership with Discovery is a great example of this.
Some of their best mechanics are matched with some of Discovery’s most enduring and popular TV shows like Gold Rush and Deadliest Catch. The combination makes for compelling and fun slots, immersing players in their favorite worlds in a whole new way.
Let’s take a look at two of Playtech’s offerings in partnership with Discovery, as well as where they’re available to play in the United States.
Deadliest Catch
Deadliest Catch drops you right into the icy waters of the Bering Sea for an intense 40-line slot experience. Built on the high volatility that seasoned players love, it wraps Playtech’s King Crab Spins mechanic in Discovery’s award-winning production values.
Key features of the Deadliest catch slot include:
- King Crab Spins: Landing a Collect symbol anywhere on the reels triggers this powerful bonus mode. Each Collect symbol stays locked and expands vertically every spin, increasing its multiplier: 2x, 3x, then maxing out at 5x.
- Stacked Wild Drops: The legendary F/V Northwestern ship may appear above the reels at any time, dropping buoys that turn entire reels Wild, creating unexpected win surges.
- Crab and Compass Prizes: Crab symbols carry cash values (x0.5–x5 your total bet), and Compass symbols trigger one of four jackpot-style mystery prizes: Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand.
- Extra Bet Mode: Activate this to double your chances of triggering the King Crab Spins feature, it increases your stake but not your prize values, giving strategy-minded players more control.
Each respin adds tension as your multipliers grow, your Collect symbols stretch across the reels, and every Compass or Crab that lands could be your next big payday.
Deadliest Catch is one of the many fun Playtech games you can check out on BetMGM Casino!

Gold Rush Collect ‘Em
This 30-line slot takes the Playtech fan-favorite Collect’Em mechanic and drops it in the dirt alongside the Gold Rush crew – with dusty visuals, high volatility, and random explosions of win potential.
Join the Gold Rush for your chance at:
- Core Collect’Em™ Action: During the base game, a Collect’Em symbol on reel 5 scoops up any Cash Prizes, Free Games, or Diamond symbols that land at the same time.
- Diamond Jackpots: When Collect’Em meets Diamond, players can win Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand prizes, scaled directly to their bet. Multiple diamonds? Multiple prizes. Multiple Collect’Em symbols? Multiply those wins.
- Free Games: Triggered by landing a Collect’Em + Free Games coins, you’ll receive up to +10 spins per coin. Here, Collect’Em symbols can land on any reel, shift down each spin, and can be pushed back up by Reset Coins, extending their presence and boosting reward potential.
- Random Pay Dirt Feature: At any moment, excavation machines can crash onto the screen and drop Wilds, Diamonds, Cash Prizes, Free Games, and Collect’Em symbols onto the reels.
- Nudge Feature: In the base game, near-miss Collect’Em symbols on reel 5 may nudge into place, turning a suspenseful spin into a winning one.
This game is great at building suspense, with the reels slowing down when there’s a chance at a Collect ‘Em symbol landing, for instance. During our own playing of the game, we saw a random Pay Dirt feature deliver three wild reels come out at one time, for instance!
The experience is layered, sticky, and full of reward build-up. Players can retrigger Free Games indefinitely, and suspense builds with every Collect’Em symbol that hangs on just one more spin.
Gold Rush Collect ‘Em is available to play today on DraftKings Casino!
