Prior to my career doing the daily videos so many of you see on platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, I worked as an actor and filmmaker where I also had experience editing content (which certainly comes in handy even today). Today’s question dips into that part of what I do:
What software does Brian use when he is showing himself playing the slot and we can see him playing the slot too? Is it editing software?

This has been an interesting year for the channel in terms of that question, as we’ve actually been experimenting with different ways to film the content. The content I film for my channel has historically been filmed on newer iPhone hardware, so that’s how it all begins.
At various points this year I tested the concept of filming both my front and back camera and layering it together in real time right on the phone’s recording, but because I have to be so close to the equipment to also be able to reach the spin button on the slot, many of you noted I was a bit too close for comfort haha
Another recent wrinkle is that Facebook as a platform has been prioritizing vertical content. If you watch on Facebook and wonder why the daily half-hour videos have been showing up that way, we’re simply making our content available in the way it’ll best find its way to you by recommendations. This also gives us helpful footage if we ever want to share a hot bonus from a video as a short or reel on social media platforms, which is a vertical format.
So with those factors in mind, right now we often shoot with three cameras: Two iPhones are pointed at the slot machine: one horizontal and one vertical, so we have it for the formats we need. The third, as it has been for awhile, is pointed at me for my reactions. We film that horizontally to be fully used at the bottom of our vertical reels, and cropped to use at the side of our horizontal ones..
We edit our videos together using standard industry tools like Adobe Premiere, and then upload to the various platforms. The same goes for our shorts; even though often those are one continuous shot, sometimes we need to trim them to meet the length limits of the various platforms.
Longtime viewers know we don’t tend to sit still, and prefer to keep it fresh, so that experimentation we did earlier this year is just one of many we have done over time. And as I begin my second decade filming content for you to enjoy at home or on your phone, these experiments, and evolutions, will continue to keep up with when and how everyone watches the videos.
